I never watched it when it originally aired. Only more recently have I caught an episode. It's very well done. But even still I don't really watch it.

It's like Adam 12.

I'm like that...very critical of older shows. But the coupleof Emergency shows I caught were believable and engaging.

If you have a Roku or Firestick, you can watch Adam 12 on the Freeve App. It is Amazon's free streaming service so it does have ads.

I find that's true with many of the older shows I used to like. Now, when I look at them again ... nope, not my cup of tea. I never lost my taste for "Newhart" though and am just starting to watch the original "Charm" again! I also watched "The Saint" (the series) recently with Roger Moore. And Prime has been kind enough to acquire all the James Bond movies. I never get tired of them even though most are dated! So, come to think of it, it is just some of the older shows I no longer care for! :)

Many of the shows in the 1960s were aimed at a young audience. Before there was Electronic Gaming, there was watching hours of television for kids. So now that stuff still only appeals to young elementary school children.

I can still watch the first few years' episodes of Hogan's Heroes, Perry Mason, Columbo, The Bob Newhart Show with Susanne Pleshette among some others.
 
At the height of Saturday Night Live's popularity in the 70's, we either had to get home in time to watch the show or stay wherever we were and watch it there. I didn't know anybody who had a VHS recorder.

If you didn't watch the show on Saturday night, what the heck could you talk about at work on Monday? Everybody would be saying, "But, nooooooooo!" and knocking on doors and yelling "LAND SHARK! CANDY GRAM!" or "Never mind!" or pretending to be a Samurai and you'd have no idea what you had missed.

Now, I've gone back and watched those shows again and really, frankly, I can't figure out why I thought they were so funny. But back then, I thought they were side-splitting hilarious. I think alcohol helped.....
