What are you doing today 2023

Just got back from London hospital.

I was expecting the next cycle of chemo to start this week but they have done another bone marrow biopsy today.

May go down the pub later.
Are you relieved not to go through the Chemo as expected...?...you've been through so much, I don;t know anyone whose as brave as you when it comes to having Chemo.

I watched the comedian Rhod Gilbert going through his chemo in a documentary following his struggle with throat cancer.. and he only went through one round, and it was so awful for him, he cried on Camera... and no-one could blame him... :(

Today AGAIN it's lashing down of rain... I just cancelled my dentist appointment for tomorrow until the end of the month. I just can't face it this week... Tonight I am at the surgery to see about this problem I'm having with my abdomen ..I hope it's stopped raining by then. No fun driving in heavy rain and dark, through country lanes.

Just waiting for an Amazon delivery to arrive..

I put my wheelie bin out last night for collection, and this morning I wondered why it hadn't been collected... realised I'd put it out on the wrong day...honestly I wonder about my memory sometimes.. . Every day just seems to meld into one...

I’m still snickering at your friend.
IKR?!!!!! She (me) just can't get that broom started!!!

I slept so well last night and once the alarm rang, I didn't want to get up. But I did....I have a busy day planned for being in town, today. My list has at least 6 stops on it, including the gym and Wal-Mart.

Dio and I are not really sick, but we are both suffering from a lack of energy....so I think we are just fighting off a cold.

Time for me to get moving. Good day to all!

Right now I am watching the games my dogs are playing.

There are three leather bones. But both pups want to have just the special one, the one that is soft from both chewing on it. OK, Ross (right) has it right now. When he looked away for a second, Heidi (left) immediately stole it from Ross. Ross is upset. But Ross (now at the bottom) is a gentleman and will not forcefully take it away from Heidi (but she can actually take it out of his mouth, LOL.)

Eventually Ross comes to me and complains about Heidi. So I take the leather bone away from Heidi and give it back to Ross. Now it's Heidi's turn to be upset and pouting near the door. That will go on and on. There are several bones, but both want to have just the special one. In the meantime, my third Boxer is sleeping under my bed.

Having three dogs, there is usually something going on. They provide me with plenty of entertainment. However, you really have to know them well to understand their subtle behavior. Ross is 7 years and 95 lbs. (I adopted him from a Boxer Rescue at 85 lbs.); Heidi is 3 years and 65 lbs. (I obtained her as a stray with 43 lbs.); while my third one, Otto a stray whom I got at 65 lbs., is now 5 years and 85 lbs.

You have beautiful dogs. My cousin has had 1-2 boxers at a time for many, many years. Such a sweet breed.

Pointed it out to a guy stocking shelves nearby. He said; "That's normal for beef that's been out for a couple of days. Just take it out and squish it up a bit and it'll look normal again."

I knew right then that there was no point in responding to him.
He's right though. Beef turns grey/brown because of oxidation. A much better way to determine spoilage is the sell-by date, texture and smell. Many stores used to open ground beef packages and flip the meat over and put on a new sticker (perhaps they still do).
Voila, red meat.

The type of chemo that I have is not that bad. it's 7 days of injections followed by 10 days of tablets. It does have varying side effects, nausea, the runs, headaches etc.

There is no cure for AML so this is what keeps me alive.

My morning routine is:

Around 5 a.m. getting up, switching on the central heater for the house to keep it at 72F, checking by blood pressure, drinking a cup of coffee with fiber supplements, checking the iPhone for family messages and the Internet for world news.

Around 6 a.m., taking my hypertension medication (I wrecked my blood pressure with dehydration, hiking at 100F heat on a nearby mountain,) letting the dogs out to do their business, and continuing with my Internet readings.

Around 7 a.m., when it is outside around 60F, going hiking with my dogs for an hour (the "wilderness" starts 5 minutes walking distance from our house.) My wife leaves for work around 7:45 a.m.

Around 8 a.m. having breakfast (oats with a little bit of sugar, cocoa powder, electrolytes, and non-fat milk, as well as non-fat Greek yogurt.) Then taking half of my three dozen nutritional supplements on rotating basis, swallowing them with Kefir. Finally taking a nap for an hour.

Rest of the day: doing repairs (like gluing a chair back together, repairing 2x2 screen supports in the atrium, etc.) getting rid of tumbleweed along our fence, trying to reduce my piles and piles of paper stuff, sorting clothing to bring to Goodwill, and heaven knows what else. In the evening another one-hour walk with the pups.

PS, we are expecting our first rain of the season the next few days, and then nature will start greening, and the four mountains ranges surrounding us will have snow.

I'm home. It's sunny and a pleasant 69. We might even break 70 today.

Work was okay. Sir was there when TL showed up so she was bearable and stayed out of my way. She dug right in and was going to start decorating cakes, cookie cakes, cupcakes and whatever all else she could get her hands on...for Christmas. Sir had to tell her not to do any Christmas decorating until next Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. That woman has no common sense whatsoever:rolleyes:

Sir's brother died last night, only 60. Sir hasn't any vacation time left so is waiting to take three bereavement days when he goes to Oklahoma for the funeral.

Gonna rest for a while.

@hollydolly, hope you're home safe and sound (and dry) by now. What did the doc have to say?

Not even there yet..just about to turn the computer off and leave Gigi... it's 7pm appointment is at 7.35

I forgot to mention...um...TL apparently is suspected of being not exactly truthful about the times she leaves and returns...I dunno details. She often doesn't use the time clock but instead tells whoever it is who has access to time keeping that she came in a x-o'clock and left at z-o'clock and that person inputs the info into the computer.

This morning TL was talking to a customer who was waiting on her to finish decorating a cake for him. He's a former employee. They were trash-talking the jobs/company and TL mentioned to him that she's probably going to leave in January because "they" won't let her work more convenient hours.

I don't know if the company uses the Rule of 75 for retirement, but if so, then she's already eligible. Maybe she wants to stay through the holidays for the $$? Heaven only knows 🤷‍♀️

I'm back from the dark, wet and cold......very odd to be in the Doctors surgery in the dark and no-one else there waiting.. I even got parking in their car park which is usually not permitted...

Anyway.. the upshot is she thinks it's an abdominal wall hernia..at the site of where my gallbladder scar is.. so I've got to wait now for a US Scan... then we'll know for sure...

I tell you she was pressing and prodding..I thought I was going to fly through the roof with the pain...:eek:

Got to disconnect my current broadband equipment and install the new stuff BT have sent me….all in connection with the change to the way landlines work here.Everyone has to be set up by early 2025 or their landline will stop working.
So that’s 4 iPads to put a new password on and the printer to sync up with the new hub….and I’ve got to get down on the floor because of where the phone inlet is….with my knees getting up again will be interesting!
Anyway,if I disappear it all went wrong!

Went to the store today to get some ground beef. Wanted to make some burgers & freeze them for future use.

I prefer medium ground for burgers as the higher fat content has more flavour. Now I like to save a buck whenever I can but doing so today on the ground beef was a hard NO!
