Cops Lives Should Matter Too

Thanks for posting this. I could add so much more to this, but people have a tendency not to read documentary type posts. I have been in situations, seen and heard of other situations from other cops that it’s no wonder why so few new candidates are signing up to become a cop. I could tell some really unbelievable stories.

Who, except you, said they don’t matter? All people of all social classes matter. Cops don’t expect to have it any better. We have taken our lumps also with people throwing bottles of ice water at us, jumping on our cars, starting our vehicles on fire, kicking in the glass, grabbing for our weapons, shooting at us and the list goes on.

Would you rather live in a world without police?
 
Without law enforcement, we'd have anarchy. Which is probably why certain groups want to do away with them. We literally would not be safe without cops. Not at home, not at work, and not while in public. They have a thankless job keeping order because too many of us have the living standards of cattle.

Remember when a bunch of young people sort of took over a chunk of Portland, Oregon and police where prohibited from the area?

One of the first things they realized they needed was a police force, because all the violence and stuff, so they formed one. Their "patrol officers" have no police training whatsoever, and some of them carry assault rifles.

It's freaking hilarious.

I would be the first person to admit that police are not perfect. We make mistakes and we have that 1% of cops wearing a badge that probably shouldn’t. However, most PD’s continue to train their Officers and that’s probably the most important factor in policing.

Over the years, the SC has taken some authority away from police and that has not made for a safer or better society. OTOH, they have also agreed to add some laws that were initially suppose to make policing better, but hasn’t. Knowing when to use “no knock” warrants has become very controversial. In some instances, they are necessary, after all, surprise is the ultimate procedure of gaining an edge to capturing a felon.

There is a lot that can be done to make policing better and safer for all. We will get there, if our legislators support the police that deal with the day to day problems that arise. It takes cooperation from all sides.

I for one would not want to live in a world without police. I have had some tough dealings with some when I was very young but still I need police... they have helped me out too!

There's really no debate, of course Cops lives should matter. What is a shame is that the Black Lives Matter slogan has been co-opted and a false narrative created, to smear BLM by suggesting the statement's real meaning is that only Black lives matter. Discrediting the Black Lives Matter movement plays well in certain sectors of society where Black lives just really don't matter.
 
That whole event on 1/6 at the Capitol was botched by everyone who had a had in it. Had the Mayor took her head out of her you know what and allowed the Guard to control the crowd, things may have been different.

The Officer that shot and killed the young lady that was trying to enter through the window should have been charged or at the very least fired. His life was no way in danger. What a coward. He should be wearing the yellow ribbon of shame.

Some of the participants still haven’t been tried. Others have been convicted. I think the government is going to have their hands full defending their actions with lawsuits due to the fact that the Capitol police and guards were voluntarily allowing people into the building and directing them to certain offices.

Like I said, the whole thing was botched from the start.

I watched the videos about internal affairs. The state police are similar, but there are some differences. The state police will use civilian employees during investigation of a Trooper when necessary. Dealing with IA can be harder on a Trooper that is being investigated for a criminal or misconduct issues than if a private firm would be hired to do the investigating. No one gets any breaks and nothing is overlooked. If we were caught stealing or chasing after young girls, there will be a price to pay. The very worse thing a Trooper can do while being investigated is for him or her to lie their way out of a situation. That never fares well for the Trooper.

I have no idea who is discrediting BLM but it's not the entire white race like some would like to blame. Most people get along with all races as we are one race, the Human race.

Really? The people who are trying to discredit BLM are the very same people that advance the idea that the entire white race is being "blamed",
which begs the question: blamed for what, exactly?

Amazing isn't it? Don't want to disrespect the 'young lady', the sweet thing who was involved in a coup and breaking into our Capitol building to stop an electoral procedure and harm our lawmakers, while her ilk were chanting to hang the VP.

Blame the Capitol officer who did his job and was patriotic, defend the sleazy violent terrorists scum who were beating the officers with US flag poles. When people tell you who they are....listen, one example right here in this thread. Perfect example of good cops and 'not so good' biased or racist ones.
