Making more Christmas cookie dough is on today's docket. Also need to invoice a customer.

Not happy that I apparently caught the cold or whatever germy thing it was that toddler grandson had. :( I'm hoping it won't follow the same template with fever, cough, etc. Last night I risked it and took Nyquil despite knowing acetaminophen causes me terrible upper abdominal pain. Yup. I woke up in the middle of the night with that horrible, familiar cramping.

I just found some cold meds at walmart.com that have the same active cold ingredients as Nyquil/Dayquil, but no acetaminophen, so I ordered it for pickup today. I already have the antihistamine type sleep aid in Nyquil, so at nighttime I'll take half of one of those with the syrup I just ordered.

Yesterday was a bad day, with lots of knee pain. That OTC med helped, once it finally kicked in. Today is starting out much better, so I'm hopeful!

I've been looking out the window, and I see that the Robins have started to arrive for the winter!

Today I'm going to make 2 Pumpkin Cheese Cakes.

I much prefer to walk to places I go rather than drive or take the bus. It gives me a greater sense of community, neighborhood, or place. Also, I notice a lot more. Driving means I must fight to get there, wherever there is. When on the bus I appreciate a conversation with another rider, but unfortunately that's rare.
You just became an honorary European with your love of walking. They are always amazed that we jump into our cars (here in North America) to drive to nearby places that could easily be reached by foot.

It is so strange how human bodies act so differently to various medications. As opposed to you I am forced to take acetaminophen rather than acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Advil) because only one small dose will cause stomach bleeding and pain. However I am far from convinced that Tylenol even works on me. I count on the placebo effect, as in "who knows the pain might be worse if I don't take them!" :D

I love to walk wherever I go! When I lived in a town, I walked everywhere!

Even now that I live in the county, when I do go into town, we park in a central location and walk to as many of our stops as possible. 🚶

I'm home. It's warm and sunny, and I don't feel like doing anything again because I'm tired. So I won't.

Disappointed. The store manager from the store where our new lady is coming from won't let her leave for at least another two weeks. Grateful that she's going to come, but why can't TL just be gone? Transfer her anywhere. Fire her. I don't care. Just make her go away.

I usually work six hours but have to get my six hours' worth done and get TL's done, too. She's supposed to split her 8 hours...4 decorating, 4 doing what I do. She doesn't. So my job is getting 10 hours of work done in just six.

Sir's day off is Friday. He'll be back tomorrow. He and I have both told store manager that we'd be better off with just the two of us because TL is a creator. She creates more work for Sir and me, and there's already not enough time to get our work done.

Today she was scheduled from 11-7. She was "early" and showed up at 11:15, put her stuff down and disappeared for 15 more minutes. WTH? I dunno if she's aware that there's a camera at the time clock and cameras throughout the store or not. There's no camera where one's really needed: in the bakery!

In German, we'd say something like "Tun Sie heute nicht, was Sie auf morgen verschieben können." I think what I said is "Don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow" or something like that. I've forgotten more German than I knew:). Anyway, that's TL's MO, expecting that if she puts it off, Sir or I will get it done the next day. We do because it has to be done.

Rant over for today.

Worked in the kitchen this morning; tearing off the skin and bones from the chicken legs I had in the crock pot on low overnight with water. Gave some to Doggie Delight with her reg. food.

Then I portioned off 5 zip lock bags of it for the freezer. The stock will sit overnight in the fridge so I can easily lift off the hardened fat and discard, then put into freezer containers.
Then I cleaned the kitchen, Ooof.

This was unfortunate....
All the owners in our small condo community got an email warning us about numerous coyote sightings in the neighborhood! Warning, be careful walking, and with your leashed pets, feeding wildlife is banned, etc. BTW, we also have bears trying to get into dumpsters.....that's another story.

Next day, I got an email from them saying "VIOLATION Notice-Feeding of Coyotes on Property" across the top... WTH?

It began: "Dear Ms. Madeup Name":
It has come to our attention that you were seen feeding wildlife, particularly coyotes. As a community, it's crucial to maintain a safe environment for all residents, and feeding wild animals poses significant risks and concerns. Etc.

Scared the heck outta me until I realized the name of the accused was not mine.

A few hours later, another email arrived:

"Pine Ridge Condominium Association, Inc - Apology"

"Greetings Residents,
It has come to our attention that an email was inadvertently sent to the community in error. We deeply apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this may have caused.
The previous communication was not intended for widespread distribution, and we regret any confusion it may have caused among our community members."

How about embarrassment? Poor Ms. Madeup Name has been humiliated.

So, coming back after walking the dog, I see Richard from next door coming home. I ask him about the wolves email...he never got it! Richard doesn't own his condo, he rents it from a Mr. Patel, who owns a few units. He never got the bear email either.

This is really pissing me off. Emails are only going to Owners, not Tenants !

I'm going to the next meeting....

Made a huge pot of tomato bean soup this morning. In the afternoon went DT. Dropped some donations off and picked up my favourite earrings which I had repaired. That was less expensive than buying new ones. Walked past a thrift shop and a coat in the window caught my eye. It’s late in the season to wear it but I wanted it. It’s not a practical purchase.

Walking tonight encountered a buck and doe. Since they took the road we wanted, we deviated from our planned route. No point seeing if he was disturbed by our presence.

I made it to the hairdressers and back yesterday before it started to rain. For the most part it was a nice day, 60 degrees. I always enjoy my hair salon as they are a lively bunch. Great music playing and customers and hairdressers talking together like a big party or something. Of course, I always love getting my hair done. Feels light and new!

Today I have some chores to do so will be busy with that. No plans to go anywhere unless I take a walk.

Listening to Caroline North as I type,

then watching some skiing before going to the rugby.
Newport Stadium this week.
My wife and I lived in Northamptonshire for fifteen years, we would support The Saints whenever her work shift pattern permitted. It's the big East Midland derby today. Leicester V Northampton. How we used to love that fixture, enjoy your match against Ebbw Vale.

I'm off to the far side of west Dorset shortly, Bridport to be precise. Snooks hat shop. They sent me a text yesterday, my new hat has arrived.

I am glad you bought the coat, @Jules! Impractical purchases are the best!!!

I think son/grandson coming over. 🐈‍⬛🐈 need nails cut. I can't do it as my hands shake too much.
I am sorry about your shaky hands, @Pepper but at the same time happy to have company. I developed shaky hands only recently and it really bugs me, especially when I have to transport my morning coffee from the kitchen to the "computer" room, also known as my small extra bedroom!

Another sleepless night. Had my eggs and coffee, catching up on email & forum. Going to the library later to browse the shelves. Our entire library system was hacked a few weeks ago, and it hasn't been resolved. My other option is to read off a tablet, which I don't like .. so, off to the library I will go!

Have a good day, everyone :)

My wife was a hairdresser for all of her adult life and loved it. She kept doing it for free to the ladies of the congregations after she retired! I always enjoyed the atmosphere of the beauty salons because everybody always seemed to be in such an exuberant mood. They and their customers were like one big family.

The only thing that bothered me was the pathetic tips they received in her day. Either the clients didn't give a tip at all or they rounded up to the nearest dollar, which amounted to a quarter most of the time. It never bothered my wife, though. To her it was a labour of love.

Thank God times have changed that way. I have a hairdresser as a "barber" now and leave her outrageous tips. At first she looked at me as if I were crazy but accepts it now, since I told her it was in memory of my wife!

Until recently I always left large tips at the Hair salons..about 25% of the total Bill.. but now I can't afford that much..so it's just £2...but I always think if every client gave £2 then that's a lot of money at the end of the week...
