How Often Do You Dream About Dead Relatives and Friends?

I often don't remember my dreams but more recently I dreamed about my sister, and mom. I remembered it right after I woke up but not any more. It seems that's how it goes with me and dreams.
Some people find it interesting to keep a dream journal. Write down at least key features of a dream, right after you wake up. I did that for about a year one time, and it seemed a worthwhile thing to do.

I agree JBR. I just mentioned to my BFF last night that I should write my dreams down as soon as I wake up. That triggered her memory...she had dreamed of her late mother the night before.

I have dreamed of my husband every night for about two weeks. That is very unusual because after he died I only had occasional dreams about him. That last time I had dreams of him every night was for a few months after we first started seeing each other. That was in 1991. My BFF asked me if he spoke during the dreams and I honestly couldn't remember for sure...thus giving me the idea to write things down. He always looks good, a little younger than when he died (my husband looked more than a decade younger than he was) and so "real". I don't know if he's sending a message or what.

I used to have dreams once in awhile that had my mother in it. I would find myself relieved that she was back in my life. Then I would wake up and realize that it was just a dream. The realization would hit me that she has been gone all these years since 1998.

I certainly do not know that my feelings about this are true, it is just an amateur's with 71 years of human life to draw on.

With all the Islamophobia that has become main stream news, and the vilification of millions of very good people who practice Islam as their religion...It could be that he is "visiting" you to bring you comfort and reassurance of the beautiful relationship you had/have with him and the many Islamic friends you have.? If you are feeling unsettled, he has come to be near you, and help you remember that extremist ideas about Islam are not true.?

That is a very interesting theory Paco!! It could be. Thank you for acknowledging that there are millions of good Muslims in the world❣️🤗

My parents and 1 aunt visit me in my dreams. When that happens, I wake up in a better mood. I can still smell my aunt who used to visit us and she would always sleep in the one bedroom. Her smell is still there 29 years later.

I often dream about both people and pets who are gone. Sometimes, the “awake” part of my mind reminds me that my mother/father have been dead for many years, and sometimes, the dream just progresses like they were still alive.
Like @hollydolly , sometimes I dream my children are still little kids, and sometimes one might be an adult and another one might be little.
They are all people that I love and miss, so I am happy to have lost loved ones showing up in my dreams.

Isn’t that amazing? Is the smell real or my imagination because I want it to be there? Next to my mom and dad, she was my life teacher. While growing up, I would call her and ask her questions about girls. My mom was a bit of a prude. She thought every young lady should act lady-like. My aunt, who worked part time in her school’s cafeteria running the register had a lot of contact with kids my age, so she knew more about how kids behaved and acted that were within my age group. She understood that not all young girls are lady-like.
