Christmas lunch alone? what food will you choose ?

I like the sound of duck Hols. It would make me feel less alone right away because duck is never a dish I have when it's just me. For my onesie's I'd just prepare a broccoli cheese quiche or something similar. Filet mignon is naughty too.

If I am alone Christmas I shall make homemade biscuits, over easy eggs with sausage and cheese sandwiches. I normally make 4 and freeze them a few days 90 seconds in microwave on power 30 to defrost, then cook 55 seconds on high to finish them, I have been doing this for a long time, it works great. These cooking times are spot on.

Well, I've got a nice big TV, some very nice single malt, loads of salted peanuts, so I'll be OK.

But, I suppose that a certain lovely lady from over the road will send a posse to arrest me, and drag me forcefully and protesting, but once there, seeing all the goodies on the table, I'll just surrender and say,"Oh, alright, but I'll have to home and in bed by 4.30am." 😊

I will be having Christmas lunch alone for the 3rd Christmas running since my husband has been gone..

My dd has an active social life and will be spending that with her friends over Christmas, so we have Christmas lunch together at an upmarket restaurant or pub around the middle of December....so on Christmas day I will be eating alone..🍹🎄

I love Duck.. so I may have that with Chinese pancakes and hoisin and plum sauce or I will have Beef Wellington... or possibly even something new & festive in the supermarket that I find...

What about you ?
I wish there was a YUM emoji. I'll be there with you in spirit.

If I were alone, I would cook myself a mini traditional dinner, go for an afternoon walk and spend the evening in my pj's with a cup of coffee, a warm mince pie and some corny Christmas film on the tv. :)

This year, there will be 3 or 4 of us and I will be doing the cooking but, I am keeping it simple and, fortunately, everyone prefers roast chicken to turkey anyway. :)

Whatever you plan to do this Christmas, I hope you all have a great day 🤶

I was alone on Thanksgiving because we celebrated one day early. So on the actual day of Thanksgiving, I ate the leftovers. 😃 If I were alone for Christmas I would just be sure I had fruitcake..while many dislike it, when made right,(with a lot of fruit, some of it candied and with nuts) I love it!
Me and my son-in-law both love fruitcake. I got in the habit of gifting him one for Christimas and buying one for myself - as my daughter and grandson looked on in horror.

Cirucumstances have the family coming up on the 23rd instead of Christmas Day and I hadn't given this much thought to I will be alone Christmas Day itself. I will have to order something special for the day.

No way can I cook that good so Beef Wellington is out. I may get a small ham (or ham steak as a ham is too much for one) or a steak or a Cornish game ham. Au gratin potatoes and green beans almondine with. Steak is sounding good.

The grocery store has the best bakery so I'm thinking cinnamon rolls for breakfast. I won't want any supper after a big dinner like that so will do our usual dessert hours later instead of supper and order an apple or cherry pie. Bakery sells half pies so that's three slices, so will last a couple of days though if they sell slices, I'm just going for that.

Yeah, that will go well with It's a Wonderful Life - a must watch.
