I thought we were supposed to be a large market? I know there are plenty of aging actors, so it can't be that.

Sure, we get tossed a rare bone here and there such as "Grumpy Old Men" and its sequel. But I can't bring any holiday flicks to mind.

Please, not one of those unrealistically soapy "Hallmark" style things. It doesn't have to be a comedy, but a romcom can be nice. I don't even care if it's an apocalypse movie that brings a dissonant couple together. Or a cowboy story like "Open Range" (2003) or "Broken Trail" (2006). Both of those are great, ladies, if you haven't watch them yet.

I love westerns!! Lonesome Dove being one favorite, I also love all the John Wayne movies.

I guess they're out there. Just darned hard to find via any streaming service. I wish they'd establish a category... or maybe some ad-supported service catering to older people needs to start up.

I'm still trying to wrap my head around the strikes. There was an actor strike and a writer strike. I thought the actors had settled, but only on a 3 year deal. Writers... I'm not sure.

I don't know if you would consider this to be a "soapy Hallmark style" movie but I did enjoy Love Actually, starring Hugh Grant. My only complaint about that movie is they had the child actor using curse words.

Do they carry any of these movies?

I get tired of the Canadian-made Fauxmerican Holiday flicks with soap opera writing and soap opera production values. But I have no problem with being called a grumpy crank either.

But isn't that an example of the kind of movie we can find crap-tons of? Where are the oldies who look like me? I want representation! 😜

What? Are you a romantic at heart? Such an interesting group of people here! Now me, Die Hard is my kind of Christmas movie.

I guess I was browsing holiday films and saw so many about young folks coming together that I just wanted to see stories about some oldies.

I liked this series, but it got cut short due to lack of viewers before its time:

Some cute movies on Netflix:

"Poms" with Diane Keaton. About a woman who starts a cheerleading club in a retirement community. No romance but really funny.

"The Life Ahead" with Sophia Loren.

"Toscana" about a chef in Italy.

"I Can Only Imagine" Christian music

"All The Light We Cannot See"
