rgp, you and others have rationalized over and over in this thread that it's the victims fault in both cases. The idea that the outcomes for the 2 cops and the 2 dead guys is somehow satisfactory in these cases is beyond my comprehension.
These cops completely screwed themselves. One is in prison, nearly dead, and both will be wandering the desert for the rest of their lives w the knowledge they cost themselves their careers, families, etc and killed men for no reason. In their heart of hearts I'm sure they'd find another way to get the job done given another chance.
Furthermore you seem to hold no value in the dead guys right to LIFE. In both cases it was pathetic police work where overwhelming, unjustified force was used to deprive two men of their right to life.
I'm going to make it a point to try avoid cop topics in the future on SF. It causes me far too much personal upset to entangle myself in it any further.
