What are you doing today 2023

Forgot how much manual labor went in to stirring a large batch of fudge.

Recipe recipe says 3, 12 oz bag of chocolate chips.
I used 2 milk chocolate & 1 semi sweet, marshmallow cream, lots of sugar, condense milk.

I had some empty Russel Stover candy tins, buttered them , put some of the fudge in them.
Will give that to our son for his gift.

I might make a couple of small batches of other flavors of fudge.
 

Still watching grands through the move. They're having an open house tomorrow for friends to come and say goodbye. I expect to see a lot of tears.
I'm feeling my 6 mo old broken wrist picking up the baby boy. He's solid!
Had a mega Barbi fest with the girls today. All have new hairdos and repaired clothing. I carry tools. 🙂
 
I updated my Family Budget Planner spreadsheet to reflect our spending for the last two days. I had a lab appointment this morning for my comprehensive blood work. The lab is a couple of towns over. I was taken in a few minutes past the appointment time and we were home in less than an hour. I took a nice nap after I ate.

Didn’t do the chores I had planned but I’m happy to say I found the GarageBand file I was looking for yesterday. :D It was in the back ups file on my external drive .

Yes! Looks like you guys are getting hammered with wind & rain big time! System is moving north-east and will cover Fla., Bahamas & Cuba this weekend then head up the east coast of the US early next week. Green is rain, yellow is heavy rain, red, pink & white; it's worse ... a lot worse :eek:

It was mini wheat n bran cereal so it survived having the water poured off and milk put on. I think I was just distracted because I was remembering the much larger size shredded wheat biscuits of my childhood and thinking about how we used to put sugar on those, and wondering how often we refilled our little sugar bowl back in the day.

Those large shredded wheat are basically the only cereal I eat. When I was a kid the tv ads used to suggest pouring boiling water over top and then draining. It was awful. I only use bananas and skim milk.

An acquaintance is on a cruise from NYC to the Bahamas. Almost every excursion has been cancelled.

what time do your stores close on a Sunday ?... our supermarkets are open 10-4 or 11-5.. on Sundays
 
Morning all folks.....41F here this morning, up near 50F later on
no precip....I am driving myself crazy with this business of laptop and desktop pc''s....all the passwords are making my brain frigid, plus new win10 issues...lordy why did I think I
could handle all this with an 84 yo brain..!!!?????
 
I am leaving for church soon, and when I get back, I have a few Christmas cards and gifts to get ready to mail tomorrow.

I need to do some cleaning and then get the big artificial Tree in the house and decorated. I think I will put just one tree on the deck this year- Usually I put 3 small lite trees out there but when I take them down, it is a mess to deal with the outdoor electric cords as I have to bring them inside, so that they warm up enough ,so that I an roll them up and store them.

I use a timer for 2 hours past dark on the outdoor tree lights.

Maybe there will be a good Christmas movie on Directv later. I made goulash yesterday so I don't have to cook today.

It is 40 degrees here and no rain expected until tomorrow. My Annual Encouragers Club Christmas Party is Thursday-last year they had to cancel it because the weather was snow, high winds, and ice.
 
Another cantata tonight so I was practicing a section this morning that I had difficulty with in last night’s performance. Have church and then doing our monthly service at the nursing home. At the nursing home I am doing a very simple Christmas medley on piano and will be followed by some more special Christmas pieces by my daughter and her friend! Then a stop at my grandson’s birthday party. Then the cantata. Busier than I like on a Sunday, but it is that time of year.

Off to a good start today. Had my coffee, shower, laundry in the dryer now and went out to the dumpster. Waiting for the laundry to finish and a delivery from Amazon. Then I can fix my first meal of the day. Getting a bit hungry by now. But I do not want to have to go anywhere after I fix it. 46 degrees here right now which is pretty nice for NY in December.
 
Well after 5cups of caff I have paid a bunch of bills so am broker now than when I got up......have two online outfits to
call tomorrow to get laptop covered for spyware, and also bank
in order to get acct's legit on laptop....busy at keyboard I guess
for the day....sunny but chilly out....@@:cool::p
