Did the job I thought I couldn't do: Cleaning the cat litter box after a couple of days of only adding more litter, too sick to clean. It was very hard & stuck, but I did it for those rascals! 🐈🐈‍⬛ I cleverly locked them up in another room so they couldn't try to jump in and out of box while I was cleaning. Filled up a big bag. Yet, they still love me. Maybe more than ever. Sometimes their affection is overwhelming especially when they double up!

I was getting ready to watch Candy Cane Lane when I spotted the new season of White Collar. Woohoo!
That went off the air a long time almost ten years ago, sad to say.

My friend is a TV/movie makeup artist who worked that show. She says Matt Bomer is a really, really nice guy - so great to hear - and is even better looking in person than he appears on film/TV.

Yeah I figured it wasn't on the air anymore but season 6 is new to freevee tv. LOL! I don't doubt that he's a fine looking man in person. His eyes are what do me in. LOL!

We are having a beautiful day here! Right now it is sunny and 45°F/7.2°C. We are having a cuppa, then it will be time to light the bonfire for our Yule Celebration.

Solstice isn't until Thursday, so we are a few days early It's a few days early, but the weather will be perfect! Plus, we both go to the Dentist on Tue. I'm having a follow up on that tooth that was hurting, and Dio is having a tooth pulled....so it is doubtful that either of us will be feeling like having our celebration later in the week.

No big, raging bonfire this year! Just a nice, relaxing (smallish) fire that will not need much tending, and we can just enjoy! I have the hotdogs ready, and I made some yogurt with oats and cherry pie filling for dessert. It's something new for us, we'll see if we like it.

yes been a lovely sunny day here as well... altho' it's dark now at 5.30pm and starting to feel chilly...50 deg f

I didn't go out because my car exhaust has blown and has to go to the garage tomorrow morning.. I'm going to be very worried in case it falls off on the way there.. then I have to find a way to get back home..

I sorted a load of next to new clothing today for donation... then I made a Roast beef dinner. The beef joint was so big, yet it only cost me £4.00.. but having cut 4 slices off for my lunch earlier.. which I had with roast potatoes and Brussel sprouts.. there's still 2 pounds left, which I'm chilling right down in readiness for freezing..

I probably sound like a one note song; more baking today!! I'm already at 4000+ cookies into the season, so this year's baking will easily top the 5000 mark.

As of yesterday, it appears all the cookies I needed to ship have been dispatched. 33 boxes priority mailed (delivery in 2-3 days) this year.

Of course, a lot of cookies also get eaten during parties, and everyone who comes to a party goes home with a box, plus throughout the month I continually maintain our own and our kids' stashes.

After restocking over the next few days, I'll bring boxes of cookies to a few of our neighbors and get ready Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the final party on the 28th.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: this is my very, very, very favorite time of the year!!!

I'm home, kids. Did y'all behave? Remember, he sees you when you're sleeping; he knows when you're awake...

It's another cool and overcast day and misting besides. Not raining, just misting. Makes it feel colder than it really is. Right now it's 52 but doesn't feel like it.

It was a lovely day at the "office" again. Tomorrow is a day off. Tuesday is a short day because Kaiser insists on the pleasure of my company at 11am. It's the only appointment the doc had open for the rest of the year. Wednesday is a work day. Thursday a day off. Friday, Saturday and Sunday are all work days. Then it's Christmas! It's the only day of the year that the store is closed, and we get holiday pay. Yippee.

DS and DSIL are coming for lunch on Friday. I'm gonna make ham & cheese and roast beast & cheese sliders and get potato salad from the deli because they always bring lunch. If I provide, it means they don't have to schlep lunch all the way over here.

There are still a couple of gifts to wrap, and I have scratch-off lottery tickets for the stockings that are hung by the chimney with care.

All set. Let the festivities begin 🎄

Just been and carved up the cooled Roast beef joint into wafer thin slices.. it's perfectly cooked medium rare.. if I say so myself.... and I've bagged them up in packs of 4 or 5 slices , got 10 packs in total, and just been out to the freezer in the dark.. to get them in there PDQ... that means another 8 meals if not 10 for after Christmas .. just from that one small joint of beef...

It's hard to follow threads when one logs on infrequently. As to what I am doing. Today, in Tampa, FL it has been windy and rainy. I dressed up a bit for church and enjoyed the sermon. Being a musician who is not without sin, I feel like I'm in the right place on Sunday.

I have 4 friends that live in my building coming for dinner tonight. Yesterday I made Hungarian goulash because it takes 2 hours to prepare and then cooks all day in the crockpot. I also completed my reports for the clients that I saw during the week.

Now today I can relax, set the table, take a walk and shower before my company arrives. It’s going to be in the high 40’s so not bad for winter.

Today beating inflation

Yesterday bought 15lb. pork loin on sale for 99 cents a lb. A lot of meat for two seniors if not pre planned how to use.

So how to divide?

One end less than pretty so about 1lb. is cut into cubes for stir fry or other Puerto Rican delicious ways to prep.

Moving up 8 slices- sliced thin for southern fried-vacuum packed for freezing

Center cut double thick for putting in a pocket for stuffing-vacuum packed for freezing

The rest ground coarse & vacuum packed in 1 lb. 4 ounce packets for future use in taco's or meat sauce for pasta.

Except for 1lb 8 oz. used today to make seasoned meat stuffing for 20 home made empanadas.

Altogether 1 meal today & a total of 11 future meals. Works out to less than $1.25 per meal for two for a protein

They sound like wonderful kitties. If you happen to have a fireplace shovel it could come in handy for tough and heavy litter box cleaning.

I'm running the humidifier and seem to be beginning to suffer a little less, from my continuing post-covid symptoms. The difficulty breathing is the worst part.

But again, it seems a bit less often and less severe, which I sure hope will continue in that direction!

I needed to help DH today, too, which wore me out.

I noticed that one of my old amaryllis bulbs, that was new 1 year ago, in December, is starting a bud stalk. That gave me a lift, today.

Well, the Spousal Equivalent had one. I brought one with me into the relationship. I inherited one from my mom. We had one for the RV that we kept when we sold the RV. AND the SE just bought a new one. Voila: five. Six if you count the shop vac in the garage. I forgot about that one.

So two of them took the trip to the charity shop today.

You know.......there's nothing wrong with the vacuum sweeper you have but then you get distracted by the new one you see at the store that is soooooo attractive. Bright and shiny and never-been-used and you just HAVE to have that one. But, HOW can you discard the old one that has been so faithful and good to you? It MIGHT come in handy......(the most fatal words one can utter). So you move it to the garage.....with the other ones that are already out there. And when the lights are out, they multiply in the dark. I know that for a fact. I can hear them out there going at it right now.

Morning all folks.....41F here this morning, up near 50F later on
no precip....I am driving myself crazy with this business of laptop and desktop pc''s....all the passwords are making my brain frigid, plus new win10 issues...lordy why did I think I
could handle all this with an 84 yo brain..!!!?????
You can do it Don! 🌹

It's 8.30am.. overcast, feels very cold... I;m all dressed in thick wooly polo neck jumper and jeans.. to go off shortly to take my ailing car to the Motor doctors..

I'm dreading driving this car through town with the horrendous noise of the exhaust ( embarrassing) and the chance that it might fall off on the way...

Then I have to walk to a bus stop and get the bus home... that's going to be a novelty :D

@hollydolly
That sure does sound like an unpleasant and difficult outing to me. I hope it goes easier than it seems, and that the timing of the bus happens to be perfect, that the pipe remains attached till you get there,
And that the entire escapade doesn't take a terrible toll on your body pain levels.

Of course you need to get that done asap, and get your car back, well before going to your daughter's!
