Are there any actors you don't like to watch?

And that is what makes him such an interesting actor. Because he is creepy and weird. But who knows, maybe he's actually a nice guy who was just burdened with that face and way of coming across. I've been watching an Apple TV series called Severance and he's one of the characters in it and he held up his end of the story very nicely.
I agree about Christopher Walken, he's creepy and weird, so he goes on my don't like list. I also forgot to mention Woody Allen with his pedophile self. Ugh! 🤮 @Paladin1950 due to her actions over the past few years, Roseanne has also earned a place on my don't like list. I never watched her show anyway...it was of no interest to me.

Totally agree on Roseanne Barr. She's so caustic and hasn't improved with age.

Will Smith and Jim Carrey. Will Smith because he has proven he is a P****y whipped human being and Jim Carrey because he prides himself on being ridiculous.

I think that Jim Carrey presents a persona in most of his comedic roles and like you, I find them completely over the top and a little creepy. They don't even rate very well on the Rotten Tomatoes listings. I preferred a couple of his more serious roles, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and the Truman Show. I think too, that as he has matured, he has grown and evolved and has a deeply spiritual side that is actually quite inspirational.

There are so many threads about actors we love, I was wondering if there are actors you don't care to watch.
I'm sure they are great in their profession, so i guess it's a personal preference.
I'm a big fan of old black and white movies, but I steer away from musicals, slapstick and horror movies.

Do any of you NOT watch a movie because of the genre or the actors? Who or what do you not like to watch in movies?
Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise look so fake to me

I was never a big fan of Robert Taylor nor Bettie Davis. Not sure if it was just because of the parts they played or the actors themselves. Yes, I guess I am rather dating myself. These actors were long before most of the youngsters in this discussion.

The biggest laugh I had about Tom Cruise was when he played Jack Reacher in the adaption of the book. In the books, Reacher was 6 foot 5 inches and 230 pounds. Cruise is 5 foot 7 inches.
100% agree. Have you had a chance to see the new series with Alan Ritchson? He looks 100% like the Reacher from the books, he's a monster. It's in the second season now. I enjoyed season 1 more but 2 is still excellent.

My all time actor I can't stand award goes to.........
TADA.. Tom Cruise. ( Hey, the Emmys were yesterday.) He was great in Risky Business. Then he began this super-intense affect, like he was about go berserk at any moment. Jim Carey is great if you're 6 years old.
I don't like movies where the actor's name comes over the Title. It's a show business thing. It means the main draw is not the story, but the star of the film. Then ,all the best lines go to the star, it's the star that does all the action, it's the star in most of the scenes. That's great if you want to see the star, and don't care about a good story.

Roger Moore, 1st, 2nd and last. He almost killed the James Bond character, and I cannot remember a film that he was any good in...... shut y'gob, Tim, what do you know. 😊

I was so angry when Tome Cruise was given the part of the Reacher movies! I've read all the books and puny Cruise certainly didn't fit the character. Alan Ritchson IS Reacher :) The first season of Reacher (Killing Floor) was quite true to the book but season 2 isn't even close to the book (Bad Luck and Trouble). I think they did a misstep in season 2 by not following the book, but that's just my opinion. It's still enjoyable. At least it isn't Tom Cruise. I wouldn't be watching it if it were.

James Stewart. Decades ago I liked him, but it stopped after I read the interviews of the French director François Truffaut with Alfred Hitchcock, where Hitch states that Stewart would never play a murderer. An actor who only wants to play good roles is not a good actor for me.

Actors whose politics are a direct opposite of mine gets you put on my "never support" list.

And I'm an old, Berkeley communist. Shades of grey but there are dozens of actors I won't watch.

I agree. I will never, ever support anyone who has anything to do with Scientology. My friend and mentor, Greg Robinson, was murdered by People's Temple ASSHOLES, and from that day on, I have had a super-strong revulsion to any cult.

Agree about Ritchson over Cruise. Cruise as Reacher made Reacher look...like a kill-crazy cultist. Oh wait, Cruise is a kill-crazy cultist. Remember Shelley Miscavidge.

Someone mentioned Will Smith. Never cared for him in movies, even if I liked the movie, i.e. "Independence Day." I liked him on TV on "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" but not since then.

I wholeheartedly agree to disagree. To me Roger Moore was the best gentleman James Bond. Less brutality but more wit. It is quite possible that the German synchronization has done much to my opinion. I often did read that the original English Roger Moore in James Bond was not very witty. But I liked the first James Bond actor Sean Connery very much too:ROFLMAO:
