Are there any actors you don't like to watch?

Dustin Hoffmann in the movie “Outbreak.” For a little man, he sure has a sassy mouth when speaking with his senior officers. I could see me talking down or putting demands on my Colonel. I did like the movie. Rene Russo was good. Whatever happened to her? She made a few movies and then she was gone.

I didn't see the movie Outbreak, but talk about sassy, didn't you see him years ago in Midnight Cowboy?

It's been so long since we have actually watched a movie, so I don't know about the new crop of actors. We like comedies on TV, watch a few reality shows (like Dr Pimple popper) I also like some cooking shows. He watches very little reads through most. When we were younger we watched movies and enjoyed dramas and especially westerns.

Yes. Same crap. It’s his style. I think he has little man’s syndrome. You may want to watch “Outbreak.” My favorite actor, Morgan Freeman is also in it with Rene Russo and Donald Sutherland. It’s about an outbreak of some type of virus that the military was developing to use as a chemical warfare weapon, but it gets released to the public somehow and is carried by a monkey. Kind of ahead of it’s time and reminds me of a current situation we are in now. Oh, and a young Cuba Goodling, Jr is also in the movie.

There are so many threads about actors we love, I was wondering if there are actors you don't care to watch.
I'm sure they are great in their profession, so i guess it's a personal preference.
I'm a big fan of old black and white movies, but I steer away from musicals, slapstick and horror movies.

Do any of you NOT watch a movie because of the genre or the actors? Who or what do you not like to watch in movies?
I probably won’t win any awards with this opinion, but Bob Hope always made me uncomfortable. At age 8 even, I just felt his treatment of and attitude towards women was wrong. The ‘nudge nudge, snicker, snicker’ humor was very off-putting.

Interesting! Very observant for a child!

Don't like any actor that swears for no reason. I find 3 things totally boring in movies:
1. bar fights in western movies
2. car chases in police movies
3. Sex scenes in all movies (it's all so phoney!)

I agree on thecar chases and the sex scenes. They lack authenticity.
but the bar scene in LonesomeDove, I LOVED!
Robert Duvall played some good fight scenes, Ithink, invaried movies.
(Seconhand Lions)
(I wonder why I like those so much?"

Johnie Depp and Bette Davis get on my nerves, while my friend hates Ernest Borgnine, but I think Mr Borgnine is a brilliant actor. 😊

I agree with Barbara about Bob Hope. I never liked him either.

A more recent performer that I find annoying is Mary Louise Parker. I'm currently streaming reruns of The West Wing, and Angels in America, both of them with big roles for her. She has the same smirky, know-it-all delivery for every character she plays.

Dog-gone-it ....... I remember much of Lonesome Dove , because I really liked the series . But I just cannot remember "a" bar scene ?

The bartender was showing them no respect.
Gus took the bartender's head and, after showing him the picture behind the bar of the Texas Rangers, he smashed his head on the bar.
Broke his nose.
Then there was a scene where Call was on horseback and went after the man beating his Son.
He said something like "I won't abide rudeness from a man." (not the exact quote but something like that.)
Whatever it was,it was SO COOL!
One of my favorite movies. I've seen it so many times! haha!

Thanks but I guess I've not seen it enough ? Or I'm just gittin'old and loosin' it ?

It was a good movie / series .... they don't make many of those any longer.

Tom Hanks.
You don't like Tom Hanks?
Wow!

I'm not fond of Stewart Granger or Lloyd Bridges and, (this is such a silly reason)
They rolled up their sleeves to look like a teenager in the 1950's!

Told ya! That's the silliest reason!
