Clean Your Dryer for Pete’s Sake!

I have an apartment sized electric dryer that I've had for a few years. There is no duct that goes outside. I catch extra lint in the back using a knee high stocking. Before that, I had a Kenmore that was made exactly like this model (Sears). I had it for 25 years, never had it serviced and never had a problem. I always empty the lint trap after each drying and bought a Lint Lizard about a decade ago to vacuum the lint out. But jthere's a metal mesh plate that the LL can't get behind and the vacuum doesn't suck out the little bit of lint gathered there.

Just recently I mentioned to my BFF that I want someone to come in and make sure it's cleaned out well because I am concerned about the possibility of a fire. Lo and behold, an ad popped up in one of my new apps about a company that does that so I'm going to call and find out if they do electric dryers and service my area.

I've had my dryer 25 years..never taken the back off. The lint gets gathered in the front of the dryer, which I clear after every use... and my hose is vented through a hole in the wall outside
That's me also. I clean out that little lint thing I pull out after each use and clean it out. Once in awhile, I will plut the vacuum hose over it and see if it can pull any loose lint out. That's about it for me.

Into the room air, I suppose

It doesn't have a vent going outside - is just a standard tumble dryer , it doesnt connect to outside
Mine does vent to outside. I've lived 71 years and probably owned a dryer for at least 50 years of that and never cleaned anything but that lent catcher.

I promise you’ll be shocked at what you’ll see if it’s inspected and cleaned.

I live in a condo and have an apartment dryer. It vents into a bucket of water with a lid. I just clean the regular lint filter and the hose that goes into the bucket.

In @Murrmurr 's post 9... I have that exact same long stiff brush which I use to clean out deep down in the dryer, after I take the lint catcher out.
I clean the lint after every use, and every few months I use the long brush to clean down underneath the lint catcher.

That same brush is used to clean dust out from behind all my radiators

No, you open the dryer door and there is usally a lint catcher you can pull out and take all the lint out and put it back. Not lent like in a religous event, lint like the fuzz off clothes.
You have no sense of humor, I see. What I did is called a play on words. Jimb.
