I have an apartment sized electric dryer that I've had for a few years. There is no duct that goes outside. I catch extra lint in the back using a knee high stocking. Before that, I had a Kenmore that was made exactly like this model (Sears). I had it for 25 years, never had it serviced and never had a problem. I always empty the lint trap after each drying and bought a Lint Lizard about a decade ago to vacuum the lint out. But jthere's a metal mesh plate that the LL can't get behind and the vacuum doesn't suck out the little bit of lint gathered there.
Just recently I mentioned to my BFF that I want someone to come in and make sure it's cleaned out well because I am concerned about the possibility of a fire. Lo and behold, an ad popped up in one of my new apps about a company that does that so I'm going to call and find out if they do electric dryers and service my area.
