Like a lot of us here. We feel we've lived an interesting and fulfilling life. I know the Lord has saved my butt on several occasions. Whether it's raising children, having dangerous jobs or pushing the envelope on our hobbies. A lot of us are satisfied with the lives we've lived and surprised we've made it this far. I'll just never get used to losing friends, though. Good friends. I've lost 3 since August.

I grew up in Baltimore. That was kind of a tough area, but you didn't notice it growing up there. I was traveling to search for gold about 35 years ago but instead found heaven. Over 30 years later and have never looked back. I'm very fortunate to have grown up with wonderful parents and the journey I've chose. I enjoy talking about different subjects. I was in the Army as a 00B30 (salvage diver), commercial diver) professional reptile handler. zookeeper, taxidermist, auto mechanic, ...........

Welcome here Fishtax and it sounds like you have had a Very interesting life!
That is an odd 'handle': fishtax- reminds of when I had to pay additional $ for a trout stamp when I would purchase my fishing license every year.

There is something here for everyone, with smart people , funny people, and we are all unique! ( and most of us are old šŸ˜„ )

You asked a good question- after working for the NJ phone company, for lawyers, and for a large clothing store, and for the county, in NJ, when I moved to NY ,( as we had bought a farm) the BEST job I ever had was raising livestock. My husband worked for the VA and I was the family farmer.

Fishtax, what job did you like best?

Welcome, Mac! Prop your feet up and have a :coffee: and 🄐. Looking forward to your posts.
Oh, and that "I don't accept being old" thing... that's šŸ’Æ % me, too. I'm barely 66 and cringe to be called a senior.
And if you hear anyone call me "elderly".... well then, run and take cover. 🤭

I was a fish taxidermist in my one taxidermy shop back in Md. The fishing was better there than the hunting. Mounting fish was my passion. I would do fish for other taxidermist also. There was money in it for me. That's where I got fishtax. As far as my favorite job it was being a school bus driver. I was forced to retire after 17 years because of throat cancer. Otherwise I would still be driving my yellow chariot. I don't think I would have liked driving on the east or west coast. What made the job was my students. The heaven I moved to was Wyoming. My dad got me my sea legs off Wildwood. A friend of his had a head boat.

Welcome,, pull up. a chair,,,look around.
All sorts of topics to look at.

Best to start with 'what are you doing today?'
This morning I went to our range to talk to my friends. Then I took my W2's over to one of the guys from the club who's a CPA. Now I just took my meds and ate. My cat is sacked out on my lap, at the moment. I have to put my laundry in the dryer. That's about it. What about you?
