Ooh my knee really hurts

I use this exact sleeve but it does not relieve pain at night and I cannot bend my knee at all when wearing it. So, I wear it only for bed or for sitting on the couch with my leg stretched out.
Chic when I have to drive or walk any great distance, I wear this on my knee/s usually the pain is worse in my right knee.. it really helps to keep the pain at bay. It's imperative tho' that you follow the measurement for the size when you buy because too big and it will not help, too small and it will cut your circulation off. It has to be tight but not so tight that it hurts.. and it really makes a big difference.. I have 6 of them (3 pairs)...in various colours

Stretch knee support

The way to measure for the right size, is to measure your thigh approx 4 inches above the knee... and check your measurement against the chart at the side of the Main picture in the advert.

Ibuprofen is hard on the kidneys.
Yeah it is. But sometimes you have to weigh the options. No sleep is hard on the whole body. It should be used sparingly and for the short term.
Maybe try some natural anti-inflammatories. Ginger is one. You can juice ginger root and then make a drink from it or just drink the juice straight. I slice up pieces of ginger root and put in my oatmeal as well as juicing it with carrots, beet, and celery.

...also Turmeric with curcumin and black pepper.. can be bought already prepared as Organic Golden paste for humans ( not to be confused with the one for animals)...

Ginny root is a great anti inflammatory. I have ginger everyday in my tea. Sometimes I use it in a smoothie. It’s very soothing & healing. Good choice.

I'm going to guess you have a bit of a ligament attachment problem. Heat pad may help you ease the complaining area.
One of those Velcro below the knee straps may give you comfort. Maybe sleeping with a pillow between your knees and avoid your right side might help. I had a pointer some years ago from knee knocking while I slept. Pull the blanket between them know. If you sleep on your right side maybe add a small pillow or blanket bunched up to support it.

Yes, and you can massage painful areas (NOT the abdomen) with peppermint oil or extract or even tea.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you Rose! Some say ice works for them, others say heat. There are OTC drugs for pain and pain patches. I hope you find something soon that works for you.

I know the problem. In the knee, pain does not occur for no reason. From experience, osteoarthritis may develop slowly, but the accumulation of fluid in the knee, due to latent inflammation, can lead to severe constant pain. My wife, for example, had more pain in her right knee than her left. We began to look for the cause, and found out that she had strong flat feet on the right leg, much more pronounced than on the left. This was causing her knee joint to not work properly and to bend and become chronically inflamed.

Anti-inflammatory medication, shoes with good supination and calf exercises solved the problem. The pain is still there, but much less frequent. I hope you find our experience helpful.

When I have pain in my knees I wear a knee support, one that I pull on, the pressure helps. I try not to use pain killers. Tumeric works but one has to be careful of the dosage, I suggested it to a friend and she bought too high a dose that had her feeling unwell. I am also a strong advocate for good?( by that I mean expensive) sensible:) footwear, I tend towards reiker and remonte, extremely comfortable with good support. I have OA and when it flares up it is brutal but then I get a reprieve for a while. For my hands I wear arthritic gloves with copper, they have been a great help. Try a Tommy Copper knee support , copper is also my go to.

You may need a steroid injection, just as I did. Fixed it up fine. Meanwhile, it seems you are doing all the right things to ease the discomfort.

I would give a Plus to finding great Herbal Caps that help with your systems. Do you have swelling anywhere on your legs.
Sometimes Socks aren't the answer. Are your sheets clinging to you, not good there. Many elders love recliners or Basic
Hospital adjustable type beds. We basically become just grown-up big babies as we age. I would stop the CBD oil drops though.

I had the cortisone injections in my knees on the 22nd of Dcember it's not even 8 weks and it's already losing it's effect.. and my right knee is hurting again..not so much the left yet..

However it still isn't too bad when climbing stairs yet.. whereas before I had it done it was agony to climb the stairs, and my knees were giving way going downstairs.. so I think I'll call them again soon and ask if I can have it done again before I have to take a 3 hour drive in the summer...... they said I'd be able to if I needed..

I had the injection in my knee right after the 1st of the year, and it is doing fine. It's my back that isn't. Although I had the shot last August in the back, and it has lasted until now.

I hope that's what I'll get when I see the doctor on Friday.

Yes, a steroid injected into the knee is good for reducing inflammation. But, as the doctor explained to us, if done regularly, this hormone will destroy the joint and joint ligaments. In my wife's case, the doctor recommended not to do this. Be careful, it is not safe! Only a short course of injections is possible.
