Number of Unread Emails

How many unread emails do you have on your phone/computer?

This morning I had 35. Sometimes it’s more. Cleaned it up to 6. They weren’t important and I’d glanced at the titles.

The reason I’m thinking of this, a podcaster said his girlfriend had 11000+. She knew he saw this and didn’t care.

I quit sending my DDs emails. They rarely read them. It’s texts only. If it’s longer and needs to be seen, I send a text so they know to look for it.
 

I don't get any emails so I might have 11000 that I haven't read. They would all just be trash, like junk mail. There's only a couple people that might send me an email. If it's really important, I'd either know to find it or they'd call me.
 
Every day regular 40 or 50 or more over 4 different email addresses....they all go in the Junk tho'... so every morning, I clear the junk mail out in bulk unread... but also to ensure there's no legit mail gone in there.

I still get a lot legitimate emails.. as well as whatsapps and texts

Seeing large numbers of unread messages makes me twitch. Not sure how it started, but I have to, at least, look at an email as soon as I know it's there. I may not action it right away - I do have a ToDo folder for those. I would see co-workers with hundreds of unread emails and my skin would crawl. Thank goodness stuff caught in the spam filter doesn't show up in the unread count!
 
I hope that when I click "spam" on a unwanted email, it will always go to the spam folder. That is emptied every week or so. I receive some notifications from places I do business with. Orgs that I support. Friends and family ( mainly messaging now ) and odds and ends I send myself from my phone.
 
I tend to block the spam emails immediately but am slower to read the incoming emails. Clearing out the deleted emails is probably the one thing I am the worst at but I do make an attempt now and then. I tend to text/whatsapp quite a bit more than email these days. Am I supposed to be cleaning up the texts? I have no idea.
 
When I’m cleaning up emails, there’ll be lots of opened but ancient (2022) emails in the main Folder. I’m (almost) sure I’m not crazy and these were originally filed in sub-folders. I don’t know why these are showing up.
 
This thread prompted me to delete 11,000 unread emails in my Yahoo account. I'm only up to the year 2013 and have at least 10 more years in this account to go through! I'll probably forget about finishing the task.
 
I have nothing stored. check e-mail at least once every day, deleting the ads, but always reading the ones from friends and answering immediately. I thought everyone did that! Now I know why some of my friends have never responded to e-mails I've sent them. I also check my phone for voice mail a few times a day. There is no way to text me.
