Was That Dream Ever Realistic!

Aunt Mavis

I have met the enemy and he is us. Pogo
I’d considered joining The Sons of Norway recently. Last night I had a dream about it, yikes! I walk in and sit down while some event is going on, I feel super uncomfortable even in my dream. I’m waiting and waiting for someone to confront the guest or anything, tons of anxiety.
To my right a Norwegian looking older fella puts his face into mine and just stares, I say “Can I help you?” He replies “That’s what I’m doing here!” I ask for a Coke and he says “Follow me.” He’s obviously very intoxicated but I follow him to the bar where I’m positive they’re making me a Rum and Coke. I don’t drink so I’m making sure it’s just Coke. I get a pepperoni stick for some reason as well. I’m questioning whether to join now or not!! Lol.

Go, WTH, why not? At the very least, you'll get a pepperoni stick and a coke to wash it down. That's better than a poke in the eye. Then again, you might get that as well. There's only one way to find out... Go!

I had a dream a couple nights ago. I was in some sort of small crowd, maybe in a small-city's park, on a warm sunny day. The whole group is slowly moving forward, and I was walking along the right-hand edge of it. I come to a place where there's a sort of pedestal... maybe made of an 8"x8" timber, buried the ground, with its flat top standing at about four feet.

On the pedestal sits a neat stack of disk-shaped objects, 5" in diameter or maybe slightly less, each wrapped in butcher paper or newsprint. There are a few guys, not walking with the crowd but standing by the pedestal. Since I'm peering at the stacked discs and wondering what they are, one of the guys says, "Take one. Those are gold."

So I take one of these paper-wrapped things. I drift from the crowd and walk to some sort of motel room that (in the dream) I know to be the place I'm booked to stay in. There's somebody else in the room (someone not familiar with from my waking life). But I ignore that person. I start to unwrap the disk, and at first it seems like a barbell weight that would weigh maybe 4 lbs, but it feels heavier.

It's also shinier — and when fully unwrapped, I realize it is gold. Unlike an actual barbell weight, which would normally have about a one-inch-diameter hole in the center, it has about a 1/4" hole there. But the disk has a couple randomly placed one-inch holes drilled elsewhere. While puzzling about all this, I wake up.

I see a problem. One needs to be recommended for membership by a current member. How in the heck does one get recommended before one knows anyone? A Catch-22 of sorts. Boo.

Experiment.... I had "Poe" interpret your dream. What do you think?

Crowd and Movement: The presence of a crowd in your dream may represent a sense of community, shared experiences, or conformity. Moving forward with the crowd suggests progression or a collective journey.

Pedestal and Stacked Discs: The pedestal and stacked discs could symbolize something valuable or significant that is elevated or held in high regard. The fact that they are wrapped in paper may indicate that their true nature or worth is not immediately apparent.

Gold: Gold often represents wealth, abundance, or value. In your dream, the gold may symbolize something precious or desirable that you have the opportunity to obtain.

Motel Room: The motel room could represent a temporary or transitional space. It may suggest a need for privacy, rest, or introspection.

Unwrapping the Disk: Unwrapping the paper and discovering the gold reveals a hidden or unknown aspect of the object. It could signify the revelation of hidden potential, opportunities, or insights in your waking life.

Barbell Weight and Holes: The presence of a barbell weight and holes in the disk may symbolize strength, physical or emotional burdens, or the need for balance and stability. The varying sizes of the holes could represent different ways of perceiving or approaching a situation.

To what in particular, Patty?

If it's about the dream I described... mm, I my impression is that "Poe" is interpreting bits. And I go more with the maxim "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts".
The ongoing mystery of how everything is intertwined is mind blowing. We think we can feel the whole by the sum of the parts, but that to is limited by the parts. What about the parts that are related but excluded? Do we ever get the "big picture"?
