Have any of you joined the Occulus Quest VR set yet? I am really enjoying it. There are so many neat things to do on it! There are places to meet people (in avatar form), a way to wander the world and see places you may never get to see, and too many other things to describe. Just this week I found a group for older people. They meet in VR to play games or just chat. There is a virtual book club and they are having a VR golf tournament. A lot of very nice people!

You can google it and see the options to purchase and see discussions about it. It is a virtual reality headset. It is sort of a 3d experience but actually so much more. They just keep getting better. You can see educational things, take VR roller coaster rides, ....too many things to tell.

Are u suspicious of @Chasift of being AI generated?
That is hilarious! I am being accused of being a ROBOT? Are you serious? I just thought some seniors would enjoy the new technology and company of other seniors who have discovered this new tool for social connection. I've tried to participate in this group. I give up. I'll crawl back into the hole I peeped out of.

No don't do that. I don't think that. I was wondering why @Nathan put the reddit link on. Did you click it. That what the subject is about. Not you, but AI getting on forums or something like that. I don't think AI could navigate that by itself yet...but who knows. I thought it an odd question, let's wait for @Nathan.

I'm very interested. I was waiting for Quest 3 to come out. Now that it has, it didn't make my decision easier. I'm still pondering. Roughly $250 for Quest 2 and $500-600 for Quest 3. I want to use it to find a quiet place to escape for say, when it's storming outside. I looked at some meditation apps. They look interesting. But I'm not sure if I would use it enough.

Thanks for posting the link to the hangout. It would be nice to socialize in VR.

I get dizzy at IMAX. I think a VR roller coaster would be very unpleasant.
