16personalities and traits survey

I have no trust in this type of test. It is a test that uses the tree model of coming to their response. Now for fun and a conversation experience sure. Like the first answer it gave.

Protagonist (ENFJ-A)

Protagonists are inspiring optimists, readily taking action to do what they feel is right. These warm, forthright types love helping others and have the creative energy to achieve their goals.
You know yourself better than me, but I don't see this as one of your strong suits. In fact you can be darker the the ace of spades! And seem very pessimistic about a bunch of stuff. I like you a lot, but I would not like it if you believed a machine. A really old model machine also. Do you know when these kinda tests started Wait let me ask my assistant...
Pi

Do you know the date, the year that the 16 type personality tests came out that had the ENFJA type of protagonist, types of personalities?
Ah, you're referrin' to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and the 16 personality types! The MBTI was developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers in the 1940s and 1950s, based on the theories of Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. The ENFJ personality type, often referred to as the "Protagonist," is just one of the 16 types identified by the MBTI.
I’ve done this three times now and each time come up with the same outcome. In my experience, it’s been completely accurate, scarily so; 99% turbulent & 1 % assertive. 😱

I have used the Myers Briggs test in both marriage counseling and career counseling. In marriage counseling it helps the couple understand where their partner is coming from if they have different personality traits and they can be encouraged to capitalize on each other’s strengths to help them.

If the inventory is administered correctly and taken correctly it is usually very accurate and won’t change much over a person’s life. There’s lists of jobs that correlate to each personality type that the client can explore.

Why would it turn out differently if you haven't changed much? Cool, if you like the test. There is so much more involved in understanding human behavior. The test might shed a little light in being aware of some of your perceptions of self. Cool.

I agree that there is much more involved in understanding human behaviour behaviour.
My statement was more geared towards crediting the 16 personalities test. For myself, personally, it made me feel more inclusive . I’m game, for anything that makes me feel better about myself. Clearly there’s more advocates than just me. 😁🥰

Here are my results. It came up recently with a pen friend so I pulled them up again. I agree with Paco that these aren't the only measures one can look at and I have no particular use for any of them. But I mostly agree that they fit. Perhaps perhaps it is the upbeat manner in which each type is described which make them easy to sign off on. As with a horoscope, none of them say "you suck, get a clue".

Which personality are you Dennis?

To be honest...I took the test and got the results, but couldn't find the specifics of the results. I took this test when I was young and trying to figure out what job I would do good at. It said 1. Musician 2. Housecleaner 3. Not good for much . :) No, I think I was strong at service jobs. I didn't agree with it's evaluation. I was interested and good at several things it said I shouldn't excel at. I don't like "believing" in anything that narrows a person's understanding of themselves or advises someone on some kind of activity. Psychology and sociology...the soft sciences are interesting but too generalized for me.

It seems like there are infinite correlations that can be pulled out and compared with other things. Like people with brown hair, like avocados more than blondes or red heads. :)

INFP like you with the role of “mediator”. Has been about a year since I took it but I jotted these results down at the time.

Do you remember what role you got?

Also what did you do in your working life? I taught and that was the strongest recommendation for me when I first took the test in the mid 80’s.

Also Mediator here.

I record the late night comedians in case I have trouble sleeping. The other night I heard an interesting comment by Ru Paul on Colbert I think. He said he was an introvert masquerading as an extrovert. I thought Wow. Maybe I am one of those as well.
