Starting tomorrow, the first of the three Bald Eagle eggs is expected to hatch at any time.
"Eggs were laid January 25, January 28 and January 31. Pip watch begins February 29th!"
"The ‘Pip’ we are watching for is the first tiny hole or crack in the eggshell and it’s created by the chick inside."
"Hatching is a very strenuous process that usually takes between 1 and 3 days from start to finish. It is a major test for the chick."

Happy Hump Day!

Yesterday we reached a high of 91°F. Today we are expecting to reach 44°F. At least it's sunny 🌞.

I started sewing a new pattern a few days ago, to make another Christmas magnet. This pattern is actually a kit that has been sitting in my closet for many years....I decided that it was time to do it. I got pretty far in just those few days, then this morning I found out that they forgot to include one of the colors in the kit!!!! 😠. I expect that I can work it out.

At the Library yesterday, I got season #14 of Heartland. We love this show and have seen it from the beginning, so we've been looking forward to getting it. We turned it on, and in the first 90 seconds of the show.....they killed off one of the main characters!!!!! That was just "wrong"!!!! We have watched this show for so long that we know the characters well...they are like family. We turned it off. Maybe tonight we'll try again. I'm not even sure if I'm going to still like the show anymore. I'll give it a try, but.....

My Mom called me the other day. She was going into town, and wanted to stop in front of my house, to drop off some cupcakes. She asked me to meet her at the road in 10 minutes, she would give me the cupcakes and continue on her way. (my driveway has a locked gate) I waited by the road for 45 minutes, and she never showed up.

Two and a half hours later, she shows up (with cupcakes) and said that she got all of the way to the far end of town before she remembered that she was supposed to stop by me! She also said that she called me from town, but she must have dialed wrong because I never got the call. She's forgetting more and more things these days. It seems like she mainly functions because of "repeatability", and doesn't handle "change" well, at all.

That is so exciting!!!

There are 2 live Eagle cams that I check daily. I'm pretty sure that Big Bear is one of them.

I'll be watching!

~Did some of this and that this morning….little things that don’t seem that important unless they are not done.

~Was on the phone with Amazon customer service to find out why my gift card balance did not show up when I went to check out. Later, after I placed the order, it showed that the balance was reduced by what I ordered.

~Finished watching The Burial (Prime) with my son. That was a good movie.
~Started working on my tax return.

Day 3 of my online seminar that was on inner peace. I was just starting to feel better when the video crashed. Inner peace gone. After a few attempts to get the video to work and restarting my computer, I decided to listen to the audio version. Not quite the same but did the trick. Inner peace restored. :)

Got some ideas about how I might deal with the trespassers on my property. Signs and a small wire fence. Looked up both at Walmart and put them on the list.

Blood sugar a little high this morning, but just a bit above the normal range. Hard to account for but we've had bitter cold since the record highs a couple days ago so relative inactivity might be the culprit. Got out for a walk before breakfast but at 20 F that didn't last too long. :ROFLMAO:

Numbers to crunch and phone calls to make, but attacking issues by dividing where I can and then conquering them will make it less of a challenge.

Pouring of rain.. just ordered groceries online to be delivered this afternoon. I'm not a fan of online grocery shopping, but I'm not going out in this rain which is forecast again for tomorrow...

Ordered some fence panel wedges and a new knife set from Amazon.

I've had the same Carving knives etc.. for about 15 years and they're really showing the signs of wear, so time for new ones...

Shortly I'm going to be constructing the new plastic set of 4 storage drawers I bought to go into the barn to hold all the smaller pieces which are currently taking up space on the work bench.

Been to the hairdresser

Home now, had breakfast; put a butternut squash in the oven and will also bake some cornbread. Our weather did the South-Georgia-180 degree- flip from 80 degrees yesterday to 60 degrees and threatening rain today , so it’s a good baking day

Later will visit Ed; we’ve started reading “the Hiding place” by Corrie Ten Boom. Such bravery in the face of unimaginable cruelty.

Finally, will see grandgirls and daughter… reading may happen here as well.

Odds are the kids do this because you've unintentionally made it very entertaining. Put up signs and a wire fence and they'll work out new ways to provoke you. As long as they feel the satisfaction of being powerful enough to make you crazy, they will.

If your responses continue to entertain, younger siblings and neighbors will pick up the habit as the original crew grows up and moves on with their lives.

Another strategy: Instead of escalating the war, why not befriend them? The next time they're bouncing a ball against the garage door, instead of scolding you might stroll out and ask if they'd like to earn a little money by helping with some minor outdoor chores. If they're agreeable, have them ask their parents' permission and set up a time and date.

While they're doing the chores bring out juice boxes and packaged snacks. Smile, be friendly, compliment their work, thank them with sincerity, and don't mention a single word about previous problems. If you're sincere, you'll quickly rehabilitate your reputation with the kids and they won't find great sport in torturing you. You might even find them pretty fun to have around.

p.s. My advice as a former child who lived not far from a neighbor who was so, so, so easy to provoke: Don't be that neighbor.

The TX Panhandle/Oklahoma set of wildfires is enormous - a million acres burned and they continue to rage out of control.
Yes, @StarSong , I finally caught up with this, I just read that the fire is still going full force this morning despite some snow and rain in the Panhandle, my daughter talked to her friend there and she was telling her about the loss of animals and people cutting fences to save cattle and that the fire was near a Nuclear plant, I've since learned the plant has been closed down...anyway much concern for all there.
...just an ordinary day here, daily chores, roofers will be here in the morning, we're having slight rain this morning.

I love 'Heartland'! That death was extremely sad. I too, consider them like family. 🙂

I made some cornbread too, with jalapenos. It smells good!
I made some bean soup the other day that turned out great. It needed this cornbread.

I asked my friend (Mr Google) what happened. I was told that Graham had other interests, besides acting, that he wanted to pursue. He had talked to the producers (???) or writers (???) two years before they actually killed his character, so they had plenty of time to set it up.
