Got first dog in to the vet for yearly check, vaccines, heartworm meds, blood test. The only problem was her anal glands were full and would not express. She showed no signs of pain or discomfort. He put her on antibiotics and anti inflammatory meds for a week, then he will try again. Bank down $312. dollars.

Plan tonight is give my terrier a bath and a trim so he will be ready for his check up next week. I now I will never get another pet requires so much hard work to maintain their coats. Between the chow and the terrier it is exhausting. Yes they do go to a groomer a couple of times a year but it is expensive so I try to do what I can at home.

If I had lots of money I would have one of those mobile groomers come every six weeks. If I win the lotto that is on my list!!
the mobile groomer who comes to my neighbour charges just £30 .. that's for a Jack Russell terrier...

Yesterday I invested several hours on the website I've been building and it's starting to look pretty good.

Not much on today's agenda besides a load of laundry, and a few odds & ends errands. Thinking about pulling together a pot of soup. Split pea, maybe. TGS tomorrow. 💙
I have made a couple web sites. One I Programmed way back when. Then I used "wordpress" for a couple more. I didn't pay for it, just used there free one's. I really liked the process. Mine had to do with crazy personal stuff I created. One was for an organization I belonged to.

That is a really good deal! Is that for a bath, haircut, nail trim. My little terrier cost about $70 when I take him into the shop. I am sure a mobile groomer would be more. The big dog, the chow runs me $150. He needs to be sheared like a sheep next visit. It is a very profitable business here.

I think I have an ulcer or something.. because I have really bad pain in my upper abdomen, especially after I eat.. but the pain is there most of the time regardless.. it's been like it now for more than a week...:(
Have you tried taking a Tums or Pepcid? Antacid.

yes the whole 9 yards. Bath, cut, , ears, nails

My daughter who is a qualified groomer.. altho' she doesn't do it for a living now..... charges between £30.. and £60 depending on the size of the dog..

It's only 1/2 hour into Wednesday so I can't say yet how the day will go, but yesterday was productive.
~Laundry day
~Walked to the supermarket to get a couple of items. Between those two things, got my exercise for the day.

~Had a nice phone conversation with my son while he was waiting for his truck to be unloaded. Also talked with my BFF & middle grandson.

~When my son got home, we watched half of the movie The Burial (Prime) until he got a call to go "rescue" a family member with car trouble.

~Took two naps due to the cumulative effect of my erratic sleeping patterns.

I was looking forward to day 2 of my online seminar. But the neighbor kids hitting my garage door was making me mad. I went out to open my garage door and glare at them. They're getting more belligerent, obviously waiting for me to close the garage door and go back in so he could resume. That got my angry.

I did get to watch most of the seminar, but this was not the frame of mind I wanted to be in.

For the first time in 3 weeks going on AccessARide to see my grandson. Rainy day. Wish me luck, please, that my journey on paratransit goes smoothly; that it doesn't rain too hard; that I come and go without incident; that no crazy thing interferes with enjoying my grandson.
Thank you.

Grandsons…God bless em. One of mine has convinced me that a bed of rocks under the elevated play fort is a bad idea. Plan of the Day: get 3 bags of leveling sand and 9, 12” x 12” stepping blocks and cover it up…no more flying rocks.

Update: done

HearLady-that is a good tip on the corroded batteries......Thanks! I can't believe how long I have had the Tap light sitting there in my kitchen and have not had time to clean it.

Then again, I had another cleaning job on my list for a week now, and haven't got it done-cleaning the decks of the locust tree pods- but I did get much done yesterday.
We had a fast thunderstorm about 4 AM here and all of the snow is Gone!

They expect maybe 60 degrees and more rain today. I plan on going to the TOPs market as they have some sales but still the prices are so high, on just about everything thing there.

I only paid $3.29 for car gas the other day. That is a Good thing!

@holly,, hope you learn more about the pain & that you can get treatment , soon.

I'm going to 'try ' to get an appointment to see a doctor about this diverticulitis pain.
Its the left side ,, feels like a pulled muscle,, fear its an infection .

@Pepper,, Good luck on your trip to see your grandson.

For the Texas folk,, hope, you are far away from the wild fires.🙏
Wish I could send our rainy weather to Texas.

As it stands now my son has to be in Texas on business ,Thursday -Monday.

Hearlady'-your suggestion worked! I had no reason to put this off anymore-it took me longer to get the batteries out of the plastic wrap ( amazon batteries) than to clean the tap light!

I have pots and pans that have outlasted two husbands. Now I can see into the bottom cabinet much better and get rid of some of them!

Yes, those wildfires are horrific......I never want to move anywhere else- we get a LOT of snow, sometimes but this winter has been mild, and I would be afraid to move anywhere with fires like this, earthquakes, or tornadoes.

What we do get this time of year are brush fires than can get out of control. There was one last night near Corning on the scanner and at some point it caught a house on fire.

We also have a burning ban usually by April , for a few weeks, as many residents in the town , burn their garbage.

Glad it worked for you!
We have hurricanes here. 🙄

It's raining but warming up a bit. The handyman will return tomorrow to do another job..half day Thurs and Fri. Whenever I have a worker in the house, it tires me out for some reason. I may just putter today and make sure everything is in order for when he returns. I can always do laundry.

Agree it's a good deal. Our mobile groomer costs $95 to do all of that for our schnauzer mix, but as some of you may recall, Ozzy is very skittish, having had an abusive first year and extremely unstable following 8 months (like 7 homes) between the time the county rescued him and others from a dog hoarding situation and when we adopted him.

Putting him in a crate is a no-go so he can't go to a groomer in a shop. We're grateful for the kind, gentle groomer who takes such good care of him. But yeah, it's pricey.

I have not heard about wildfires in Texas....we are expecting rain tomorrow here in north east Texas.
I finally made a decision on color and type of shingles for the new roof, it took days, today I just gave up the search and hope for the best...my old roof is dark brown, solid color, new one will be dark brown, mingled colors

Morning all....late cking in....today is a very painful
