kat..thanks for that.... but it's not the divorce that's thrown me for a loop... I know that I'll get past that. as I did my first divorce... ..it's already been almost 3 years since we separated.

It's what I discovered yesterday from my lawyers that he's done which is going to potentially affect my future detrimentally.... that's the biggie... :(
Your soon-to-be ex doesn't seem to have lower limits on his behavior. I hope his greed doesn't prevail.

Yesterday was a sweet day, with a memory that I will hold close to my heart...

My daughter and I--with the two grandgirls-- arrived at Walmart and started across the parking lot. The younger grandgirl (the autistic one) is pretty much always in her own world and interacts with people infrequently.

Yesterday, instead of walking ahead of us, she positioned herself between her mother and I (older grandgirl was already on my daughter's left side), first took my hand, then reached for her mother's hand. So we walked across the parking lot four-across. My daughter looked at me with beaming face and said, "This is a first."

:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:
How wonderful!!

I spent ages wondering what a Soon2bex was. I at first assumed it was an antelope from the Serengeti, but then I realised that it came from a poem by Kipling ...

“Beware the Soon2bex, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Maseratti bird, and shun
The counterfeit Rolex watch!”

Am I right or am I right?

I wish you all the very best and hope you get sorted out OK.

Vent ahead:

I'm so tired of p*ss-poor financial choices made by my closest family. The Bank of Mom is not going to volunteer to help out, and if asked, "No. I don't have any money." Not, "I'm sorry, but I don't have any money." Just, "No." It's a complete sentence. Dammit, they've got $300K in equity in a $400K house. Just a guesstimate judging by what other smaller and much less desirable homes in our subdivision have sold for recently, it would likely sell for much more than $400K. No.

Who really needs six credit cards? I have one that rarely gets used, and when it does, it gets paid as soon as it shows up online. No minimum payments. No interest. No balance. Ever.

I work for me. I don't have to work and don't need the money. I work for the "social" life and the paycheck. I purely love the paycheck and purely love the way it looks when it all gets deposited in my EF every week.

They don't have an EF.

No.

If I could turn back the clock, I wouldn't have any kids. I'd have finished undergrad, gone to law school, stayed single.

Yeah. I love my kids, but there's a limit.
It's very disheartening when a child doesn't follow your money skills. Even when they see that it works.

@hearlady There's one from Shout (the stain remover product) called Color Catcher.

Silly me. DD and I went to Walmart and I forgot to look for Herb Ox. I look at work tomorrow.

Also...yeah. Especially when they've seen that I've had $$ to cover their emergencies! Maybe that's why they don't have an EF. They know that I have one?

Thanks!

Going to do a walmart run for the basics and dog food. That is the exciting plan for today. Tomorrow, second dog to the vet for his annual checkup, then friday, little girl dog goes back to have anal gland examained. That will be the third time in as many weeks.

Man, these babies are expensive!!

What is that? Sounds like something I need.
this

you just put one sheet in with your colour wash and any dye that runs will be caught with the sheet and not the whites...I've used it for many years.. . Most supermarkets have a cheaper generic version which work just as well

Yay! Sometimes it takes a while to build up enough of a load to wash but you want an item.

Do they repay you, G?

I didn’t get a chance to post about yesterday because I fell asleep and woke up after midnight. It was a very good day. I balanced my checkbooks in the morning and had a brief meeting with my son in the afternoon. When he came in from the mosque, he surprised me by joining me while I watched Mr. Malcolm’s List. I didn’t think he’d be interested but he was all in. We both enjoyed it. He also surprised me with a cute pearl & shell bracelet that he bought from an entrepreneurial young Sister at the mosque, but unfortunately it's too small to slide over my hand.

I made brownies from a Duncan Hines mix. It’s the first time I’ve baked in over 10 years. Although I subbed avocado oil for vegetable oil, the brownies are good. Today I straightened up a little in the living-dining area, did some organizing and had a couple of phone conversations.

Good morning. It is morning, right? In another hour I'll be up to my elbows in bread dough, and the croissants will be waiting to get into the oven.

Plumber coming today to install new tankless water heater so last night I had to clean out the storage closet. My kitchen looks like...well...like a storage closet.

@Leann When I produce $$, it's not a loan; it's a gift. They have only asked once, that wasn't much (IIRC only $800). The other times, they've just announced that they didn't know where the $$ would come from so I "offered" to give it to them. Meh. This time they didn't even mention a dollar amount. I noticed a contract on the table yesterday and a Mastercard lying on top of it so they might have decided that it's so much they wouldn't even bring it up. Didn't look at the contract an and don't know what the bottom line is, and I dunno, but I wasn't going to "offer" this time.

Gotta get moving or I'll be late. Sir is off today to take care of some medical stuff. NL comes in at 9.

Gotta remember to look for Herb Ox today before I leave.

I have an appointment this morning with the eye Dr. because I've had a black spiderweb looking veil over my left eye. I've also been seeing some flashes of light in the corner.
According to Dr. Google this is an urgent matter, possibly detached retina. Hoping it's a cataract.
Since I'll be out I'll run a bunch of errands.

They expect temps to 60 degrees here, sun is out and I do not have to go anywhere today -good-because I want to watch the Robert Hur Testimony in the House committee at 10 AM. I have a pro se attorney background, never lost a case ,and I learn a lot from the legal stuff on TV.

I have a long to do list for today but can do some of it while the testimony is on TV.

I need to freeze some meat I bought yesterday, and got a nice corned beef for St Pat's day but I might cook it sooner than that!

Also I need to clean my dining room and put out some beautiful embroidered cotton Spring placemats that I bought either at a yard sale or
when Sal's Boutique was in a local village. (Salvation Army) :p

I cover them with clear plastic placemats because they are too pretty to get food stains. I have napkins to match but a few company people said the napkins were too pretty to use-but they wash well. Maybe I can take a photo of the later and post it.

I sure miss the Salvation Army- Many years ago I bought a brand new large crock pot for $9.99 and that will be how I cook the Corned beef, cabbage, carrots, parsnips, and potatoes. Also I will have corned beef hash and corned beef sandwiches, maybe for 2-3 more days of meals.

The pollen is kicking in here today- time for a Benadryl before I go out to the mail box.
