Yesterday was a sweet day, with a memory that I will hold close to my heart...

My daughter and I--with the two grandgirls-- arrived at Walmart and started across the parking lot. The younger grandgirl (the autistic one) is pretty much always in her own world and interacts with people infrequently.

Yesterday, instead of walking ahead of us, she positioned herself between her mother and I (older grandgirl was already on my daughter's left side), first took my hand, then reached for her mother's hand. So we walked across the parking lot four-across. My daughter looked at me with beaming face and said, "This is a first."

My grand girls just left and what a grand weekend we had!

I too set my clocks yesterday for DST. After a few very nice days and some rain yesterday, I told my Pastor, as I went into my church, this AM, that I just saw some snowflakes- He said" You Did?" and I said 'and they predicted squalls this afternoon," and he said "Really?" - I don't think he watched the weather channel- and then the sun came out in the middle of his sermon.

BUT about an hour after I got back home, the weather had rapidly changed- it was 32 here but felt like 22 and then we got a BIG squall, and that turned the visibility into Zero!

It is still snowing and they said Rochester NY, about 1 and1/2 hours north of me will get 13 inches! Yikes!
We are under a high wind watch too.

But as they say in NY-' if you don't like the weather, wait 20 minutes and it will probably change.'

My neighbor woke me with his noise again. Despite that, I slept pretty well. Still, the time change is starting to affect me. I'm feeling laggy and unfocused.

I was able to pay a couple bills with effort. Glad I got them done

I started doing some energy exercises from a youtube video. That helped with the jet lag feeling.

I'm off to find some tv to watch to tune out. Hope everyone is doing well on this DST day.

We had a little bit of snow yesterday evening and maybe some overnight. Not enough to need snow plows or anything like that. This morning after I finish my coffee, I am making some hard boiled eggs in the Instant Pot. Then maybe get an early start on laundry. Other than that, just my normal household chores. I space them through out the day because they are easier for me that way.

Good morning. I didn't get up until 6. Right. 6am. Maybe catching up on the hour we lost while springing forward?

Already have the laundry going and...no lectures, please...threw everything into the washer at the same time. Never mind being bothered with separating whites and colors. This could be a very interesting experiment... If nothing else, everything will be clean.

It won't be light for another 45 minutes to an hour and then another hour after that before it's warm enough to play in the dirt.

There was some sort of water pressure problem yesterday so a plumber is expected this morning. There's been some sort of water pressure problem for two years! DD/DSIL are rarely on top of maintenance/repair issues until they're forced into doing something about them:rolleyes:

I always wash my white and coloured together, using a colour run sheet means colours don't leach onto the whites...

Cold, damp day..very grey...

.. been trying to get the hospital appointments line to answer my phone call. They sent me an appointment for general surgery, and I have no idea what it's for, it doesn't say in the letter

When I called I was number 48 in the queue.. I dusted the house while waiting.. then at number 41 in the queue I took a shower... then as the numbers dropped into the 30's I made a cuppa tea.. and then paid my credit card bill... In the high 20's in the queue I photographed some important documents to upload and send to relevant parties, .... and here I am having done all that, and I;m STILL now only number 13... in the queue..:oops::oops:

I was going to go to the bricks and mortar bank today because the Divorce lawyers need a years worth of Bank statements, and I'm not printing them off at home using all my ink up... but having had to get this hopsital appointment sorted , it will be too late to get there before they close.. at 3.30pm ( 3pm now)

Huge furore in the media today with regard the Mothers' day photographs released by the Palace. Catherine photo-shopped after William took them to tidy up little things like the kids clothes, and their hair.. , and the media have gone berserk.. FGS...
Kate is pictured leaving Windsor Castle with William

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

@hollydolly In the overall scheme of things, that photo is of paramount importance. Right. Hunger. Homelessness. Sky-high rates for utilities and groceries. But a tidied-up photo of members of the royal family take precedence over it all

Where are you in the queue now? Maybe they want to remove your gallbladder. Or maybe your appendix. Tonsils? Brain surgery?

just got through...

I don't have a gallbladder or appendix, or even tonsils for them to remove. Sometimes I don't think I have a brain either.

Anyway.. transpires it's to see a consultant regarding my recent ultrasound Scan I had a few weeks ago... why on earth they couldn't have put that in the letter I'll never know...

As though this is the first time a photo hasn’t been airbrushed and cleaned up. The horrors of a new method.

They must have been looking to see if Catherine was touched up to look healthy and were disappointed when there was no story.
yep I agree.. and to attack her from every corner.. about a damn photo when she's recovering from Major surgery, is beyond the pale...

Good morning, all. Happy to report I'm feeling more human every day.

Didn't get to the mopping yesterday - maybe today. Also have a little business work to do over the next few days. Nothing pressing though. Fortunately nothing on my current schedule falls into the "got to get it done today" category.

Now that I'm well past the point of having any contagious remnants floating in my system, we're clear to have TGS tomorrow. (Yay!) Have been putting off grocery shopping until we have him again he's enthralled by all bye-bye in the car opportunities and is a good little shopper.

Vent ahead:

I'm so tired of p*ss-poor financial choices made by my closest family. The Bank of Mom is not going to volunteer to help out, and if asked, "No. I don't have any money." Not, "I'm sorry, but I don't have any money." Just, "No." It's a complete sentence. Dammit, they've got $300K in equity in a $400K house. Just a guesstimate judging by what other smaller and much less desirable homes in our subdivision have sold for recently, it would likely sell for much more than $400K. No.

Who really needs six credit cards? I have one that rarely gets used, and when it does, it gets paid as soon as it shows up online. No minimum payments. No interest. No balance. Ever.

I work for me. I don't have to work and don't need the money. I work for the "social" life and the paycheck. I purely love the paycheck and purely love the way it looks when it all gets deposited in my EF every week.

They don't have an EF.

No.

If I could turn back the clock, I wouldn't have any kids. I'd have finished undergrad, gone to law school, stayed single.

Yeah. I love my kids, but there's a limit.

have been using the Herb Ox Zero sodium broth/bouillon powder for a few years now, both chicken and beef. Never once could tell a difference in any recipe. One packet of that to one cup water... zero sodium.
Thank you for mentioning this. I ordered the chicken version and Amazon says it will deliver tomorrow.

Other than for baking, Nu-Salt salt substitute is my go-to salt shaker. I transitioned from regular salt to Lite Salt (Morton) for several months (couldn't tell the difference), then tried the Nu-Salt and easily moved to that. I've continued using Better than Bouillon brand's chicken and beef broth concentrates, despite their objectionably high salt contents. (Vegetarian broths taste overwhelmingly of onion so I don't use them.)

For me, the pursuit of perfection has almost always proven to be the enemy of success. 95% true to WFPB is good enough for me. Likewise cutting salt from cooking and table top wherever possible.

I've cut it, too, wherever I can. I hope the Herb Ox is as good for your needs as it's been for mine. No one I've cooked for has ever noticed a difference and that included some picky eaters. :) Even when it's something like soup, I put the right amount of cups of water in and then add a packet for each cup and it has always turned out tasting like "real" broth.
