You didn't have Lorne sausage by any chance? Now there's a thing to harden your arteries. Mind you, my 'continental' breakfast of croissant, smoked salmon and cheese was probably just as bad.

I rarely have a cooked breakfast, but when I do,it troubles me that I can't get a proper black pudding anywhere. The last decent one I ate was in Portugal.

LOL.....I did not have Lorne sausage because I can get them anytime here.. .. and I do have it about once a year...or 2

What I did have was fruit pudding. ( haven't had that in 50 years) . a slice of Clootie dumpling, ditto haggis.. and eggs..

Right now I have Beef olives stuffed with haggis roasting in the oven

...and in the freezer are mutton pies stuffed with Black pudding.. ( I can get mutton pies here , not stuffed with BP.. but a pale copy of the real McCoy) , and right now I've just come in from gardening.. and I'm sat with a cuppa tea.. and a Coconut Snowball ( the latter again, I've not tasted for 50 years).. the imitations down here aren't a patch on the real thing..

the Portugal and Spanish ones 'Morcilla' have rice in them... and they're very sweet..I don't like them at all. I prefer Scottish black pudding... people praise Bury Black pudding.. I think that's horrible...
 

@jet and @hollydolly had a full English breakfast and a traditional Scottish breakfast, respectively. Did they share with us? Nooooooooooooooooooooooo :( And did @hollydolly offer us coconut snowballs?

Guess what I discovered today? There's a pay differential of $1/hr not just between 11pm and 6am, but also on Sundays. All day. Who knew? Since I clock in about 5 minutes before 4, that's a dollar for three hours during the week and more on Sundays. Okay. I'm not proud. I'll take it.

It's kinda chilly and overcast today. IIRC, the sun's supposed to come out this afternoon.

I buy a lot from temu... when I compare the price of the exact same thing to Amazon..then I buy it from temu...

I have dabbled in a few bits of clothing... not keen tbh.. they seem to have bought up the world's complete polyester collection.. cuz everything seems to be made from that..

However for daily items.. I'm a temu fan.. for example.. I have just installed now Solar order light in the garden today to replace my older one... they cost me around £6..00 from temu.. I bought them a couple of months ago at the start of winter.... the same ones are on Amazon.. for...£18..00

That's 3 times the price.. and that's pretty much the same for everything...household..

Perhaps the hazards are better known now. Perhaps the ubiquity is higher. Perhaps it's yet another thing to keep the population in a panic over instead of keeping an eye on real threats. Perhaps it's meant to sell more stuff, stuff with a higher price tag.

It reminds me a little of the glass and ceramics used way back when which contained lead or even radioactive minerals. Were there any credible studies showing deleterious effects of normal exposure?

Where all of the 🐔 🐔 🐔 that used to be attached to the bodies running around? :ROFLMAO:

The evidence is early but fairly compelling. I'm expecting an avalanche of studies within the next few years.

When I were a lad,black puddings were horseshoe shaped and a cubes of white fat throughout it. On our last trip to Lisbon, in a small restaurant, I had a starter of black pudding cooked in a port wine sauce. The black pudding was just as I remember it.
I don't care for lorne sausage, or haggis for that matter. Snowballs - yes I remember them, and 'Paris buns' did you eat them. I last saw them in a shop in Forfar and bought a couple. Not nearly as good as I remember.
 
I got one of those when I had a hip replacement. Did not do the job for me, kept going wonky. I finally resorted to placing my little metal step ladder in the shower. I sat on the top stair which was high enough that I did not really have to sit all the way down. It never went wonky on me.

@Pappy , you might want to sit in the bathroom the first few times she uses it to make sure it does'nt slide around or get uneven.

ye I remember Paris buns..and yes here we can get horseshoe shaped Black pudding with lumps of fat running through it...

lol...you need to be Scottish to enjoy Haggis and lorne sausage.. :sneaky::ROFLMAO:
 
Wifey's Ford Fiesta needs a major repair - and we need a slightly bigger, more spacious car so that we can better fit a child's car seat in the back and still have room for both of us in the front.

So today we put a deposit on this lovely Honda Jazz. One of the last ones before they went silly and made them all Petrol-Electric Hybrids. I'm a non-believer when it comes to electric cars so this 1.3 Petrol one is perfect. It only came in to our local Honda Dealer today so needs all the inspections and full service that an "Approved Used Honda" gets. So we'll be picking it up next week. The colour goes well with my red Civic (parked next to it).

So many plastic food storage containers - might replace those with glass. Everywhere I look in my house there's something made of plastic. It's very distressing, to be honest.

I keep all the glass jars I buy after they are empitied. I soak them in the sink in warm soapy water to get the labels off. They are perfect for storing left overs.
You can see at a glance what is in the jar. I have all different sizes thanks to the great variety of things I buy in glass.

They are also great for sharing food with family. When my Mom was still living and in her own home I would make extra food. The glass jars were perfect for filling with home cooked meals and just taking it to her. She live just on the next street. I made sure to let the food cool before I placed the lids on. She could eat that day or place in the fridge for when she wanted it. She would wash the jars and keep them at the ready for refilling when she was done.

yes we did that when we were younger when more things were bought in glass storage jars. I rarely ever buy anything that comes in glass..

I looked at Temu many times since you had started using them. They do have some good pricing, and unusual items. We had been talking about credit cards earlier. I had read that Temu was a Chinese company owned them and there had been problems with financial information for customers.

Now, I don't know if that is true. I don't believe everything on the internet. I also do not have a problem with the people of China. It is the corporate machine there that gives me worry. Even though I would like to try it, I just don't want them to have my credit card number.

I do buy pickles, olives and a variety of condiments in glass. I miss the days when I could get the bigger jars. Mayo jars were perfect for soups, chili etc. Some of the pasta sauces come in glass but the only one I buy is premade alfredo but very rarely.
