Pardon my butting in please. 🙂 What about light weights like 1 or 2 pounds?
not need to excuse yourself, you're welcome to make any comments whenever you wish..:giggle: yes I do have those small weights.. I have to use them sitting down tho'.. because if I use them standing up, even those small weights put my back out.. not because I can't lift them of course, but because my back is so fragile....but I'm never sure if using them sitting down strengthens my core, which is really what you need along with the back muscles as a base for upper body strength..

I'm not weak..I've always had good strong shoulders... now since I rarely swim any more picking slightly heavy things up, is proving to be more and more of a challenge..

Yes, even if you're strong certain movement can cause back trouble. DH has the same problem.

Has your doc given you an Rx for Lidocaine patches Don?
You can get OTC patches but your doc can prescribe patches with more Lidocaine in them than the OTC kind.

Planning on meeting a granddaughter and her son at the local science museum for kids. She is a single mom and that leaves them more time for visiting with me. The plan is to see if her young son enjoys the science museum enough to warrant a year pass. We may have to wait another year before he finds it interesting. If all he wants is to run around, we can go to the park. It is our first really warm and sunny day this year so no matter what, we should be able to enjoy a child's happiness.

Pepper I've had these machines for 8 years. I believe I paid $80 for the washer back then. It's similar to the Giantex model shown here on Amazon, except mine does not have the spinner. I notice many of the models are washer-spinner combos now. Mine came with a fill hose but there's no way for me to connect it to the faucet in the bathroom, which is where I set up the machines. Plus I honestly think it would take longer to fill the machines using the hose. I use a bucket and hospital size basin to manually fill the machine.
Amazon.com : mini spinner for clothes

The mini spinner in front does a better job than the industrial machines. Although it doesn't completely dry the clothes, it comes damned close if set for the max of 5 minutes (I usually only do 2 minutes). The spinner is from Laundry Alternative (brand also sold on Amazon). I notice their spinner prices are much higher than what I paid, which I think was $70 or $80. The Laundry Alternative
Let me know if you get any of these, okay. :)
How do you dry your clothes, Diva? Do you have hanging racks in your unit?

I'm home because the salon doesn't open until 11. Wasn't going to wait around an hour so DD will take me back in a few minutes. Maybe tomorrow I'll blue it again. Sure needs it but has to be cut first.

High clouds, not very warm today and downright cold tomorrow. We're going to have frost tomorrow night and again on Tuesday night. Spring arrives around 11pm Tuesday night, along with the frost:mad:

Might be nice so have some little soft weights that you can buckle on to your wrist and ankles for some time during the day. Just wearing those during normal daily tasks can help strengthen muscles.

My usual haircutter wasn't there today...her name is Shannon...it's St. Patrick's Day...

I didn't want to wait another week (she only works Sat/Sun/Mon) so another lady cut my hair, and I feel about 10 lbs lighter! My last visit was two months ago, and the next day I blued it. Two months is a long time between colorings. Well. The blue washes/grows out after a while (like three weeks or so), so there wasn't a lot of blue left, but imagine my surprise to discover after being cut that my hair is almost all white now. Hm. I think I like it. Gonna wait a couple more weeks for the rest to wash out and maybe just leave it white. I mean, yanno, I am old and white hair is okay, I think.

I think white hair is stunning!! I am letting my go gray but I don't know if it will be a pretty gray like some I see. My sisters hair looks like spun silver, she has fine, straight hair. Mine is more coarse, curly and wavy. I just wish it would hurry and be all gray!

Both of us ,plus the dog are being lazy today.

All of us sort of vegged out on the couches before having pancakes & bacon for lunch.

Mac & I did take another walk.
Its windy and a snow flake or two fall, blow around

Spring arrives March 19.
Does anyone recall the old framer's saying?

Depending on the weather day before , day of Spring forecasts what our Summer weather will be?

Well went out for errands. Pharmacy where I picked up 90 day supply of 2 meds, no charge for those. There is one more I am waiting for a refill request to the doctor. The first of the month I switch over to Medicare and the Aetna supplement offered to USPS retirees/survivors. The supplement will only cost about $25 per month and matches up to the policy I have now.

When my husband passed 14 years ago, the Aetna insurance cost me $250 a month. It covered me and my son until he was 26. It included dental and vision.
This year at the first of the month the cost went up to $720 just for me. Of course there had been increases over the years but this is just out of hand. Last year it was about $550, that is the biggest increase I have seen over the years.
Now my cost for Medicare and Aetna will run me just a little over $200. I have also taken out the dental plan available which will be about $25 a month. I am so happy about the savings for my healthcare. This is deducted from my widow benefits.

Anyway, after the pharmacy I stopped and filled the car with gas. I go very little and everything is within a couple of miles. A full tank last me about 3 months.

Then it was off to one of my groceries to get the loss leaders on sale. One chuck roast, one eye of round, they will both be cut down to use in various ways. While at the meat counter there was a beautiful chunck of beef filet so I splurged. This will be cut down to 5 or 6 ounce steaks for the freezer. It was about 2 1/2 pounds so I will have some nice steak when I want it.

I got some asparagus for a $1.49lb, so went ahead and got 2lbs. It is so good and easy to to cook in the airfryer. I bought 4 boxes of the grandsons favorite cereal, Honeycombe for $1.88 a box. I will send 3 home to him next time my son is here. Got a 2lb box of velveeta for $4.99, normally $7.99. That is for the pantry stock. Laugh if you will but I got 12 cans of the store brand whole green beans. I tried a can a few weeks ago and they tasted as good as the Del Monte brand. I had been using Libby's, they were okay but not as good as these I have found now. They were on sale for $.77 a can, so much cheaper than the name brand. They will go into pantry stock and should hold me for a couple of months.

I was hoping to go to my eyeglass place since the big dog has eaten both pairs in the last month. Much to my surprise they were not open on Sunday. I will have to go tomorrow. The Dollar store and the neighborhood Walmart are in the same strip so I will knock out those visits for items that are cheaper at those stores.

It was good to get out of the house and get things done. I am a happy camper!!

No Star. I do not like the feel of line dried clothes. I have an electric dryer in my kitchen. The one shown here on the left, was the old one. I got another one which is white. I don't like white appliances, but they didn't come in any other color. The old was a Westinghouse but this is Sears brand (Kenmore I think). They are made exactly the same. Though considered an apartment sized dryer, it holds quite a bit.

My countertop dishwasher and microwave in this picture have since been replaced as well.... with black and black & silver models, respectively.

I was wondering that too...however having seen the photo of where Diva has to go to do her laundry..I'd be of the same mind. Whatever works to wash indoors would do instead.....

I wonder if she has a balcony..
Yes, I have a patio HD. But I would never hang clothes out there. We have two clotheslines in the courtyard and I've never used either of them. This first photo is not my balcony, but that of my next door neighbor and I've posted it so you can get an idea of the size. The patio doors are six feet across. The 3rd was taken from inside my apartment.

@Jules, you mentioned being concerned because I'm going out at night. Again, that is so sweet of you!. The 2nd & 3rd pictures were taken at night. See how well lit it is? :)
