Rent a Womb (Surrogacy)

They could adopt a child too.

Seriously??

I'm not sure about your country - but not in Australia they can't - extremely few babies available for adoption in Australia and very costly and difficult to adopt from over seas

I have no issues with surrogacy as long as all parties are willing and able and i n agreement

It isnt political here - as far as I know neither major party has any particular stance on this..

What do you think of the controversial topic surrogacy?
Surrogacy has been going on for years now. Many woman who can’t get pregnant go for this option with great success.

Is the ā€˜rent a womb’ something you came up with or is there a company hiring woman to give birth for others? If so, do you have a link?

It's been going on since biblical times. Abraham's wife Sarah couldn't bear a child, so she begged her husband to impregnate her handmaid, Hagar, so that she could raise the child as her (Sarah's) own.

Yes. I’m all for it. In fact, I think it’s wonderful for those who can’t have a child themselves.
I’m missed the surrogate part somehow. The phrase ā€˜womb for rent’ threw me off. My mind immediately went some place sadistic.

I didn't know it was controversial. I know 2 couples who used a surrogate. The babies are grown now and turned out fine, but one of the couples had a heap of problems when the husband and the surrogate became attracted to each other.

His wife's advice now: Don't agree to let a surrogate mom be a part of the child's life or become a new member of the family.

I think, if done for the right reasons and will full understanding of the various consequences, that is it can be the most selfless thing someone could do for another person. However, as with all things, it needs tight control to ensure it's not abused. But at the highest level, I'd say it can be amazing.
