Very surprising school shooting

In Finland yes but part of a trend. Apparently both the killer and victim were the same age. The desire to see someone dead seems to be a common theme among todays youth. It's not just revenge they want their enemy or problem gone period.

Also they said the gun was from a relative. Immediate family? Where are biological parents? Lack of strong father figures seems to be a factor with younger criminals. Not sure here.

Societies are getting sick. Terribly sick. It's a virus that has infected us, and it's spread throughout the world.

Yes. It's a shame whenever these incidents happen. Finland has had an enviable international reputation... educational system & results near the top among nations, a pretty comprehensive social safety net, universal health care. And from what I know, they have a lot of ethnic homogeneity.
Weren't Finland's people named the happiest people in the world? It's sad that so many shootings are occurring. I have to admit, that with the exception of terrorist attacks., hearing about shootings in places outside the U.S. surprises me. The article states that since he's under age 15, he can't be "formally arrested" but "will be handed over to child welfare authorities". If he's not going to be held accountable, how likely is it that at some point, he'll do it again?!

Still, he's a murderer, and he injured two others. I seriously doubt he'll have a normal teen's life, or a normal life as a young adult.

Even though he may not be "imprisoned" in identical terms as an adult would be, I doubt the results of his actions will be explained away or forgotten. I doubt he'll go free anytime soon. I'd suppose he might be imprisoned once he reaches majority. But it will be interesting to learn how the Finnish authorities & institutions will handle him.

Several countries have experienced surges in shootings and gun violence in recent years, often due to a combination of factors such as weak gun control laws, socioeconomic disparities, gang activity, and other systemic issues. Unfortunately, most of those we know of are on the American continent.

The aquisition of guns in Finland and their use in deer hunting seem to be quite a popular phenomena - they have tightened their laws recently but you know the young always trying to find a way around the laws and through instant media from USA can practice copycat school shootings - I think you will find the young man in question is emotionally disturbed?
