yeahhh...I now have an almost empty spare room. The bed has gone.. the guys were very quick at dismantling and loading it into their van. In and out in 15 minutes, and very aware of not damaging the stair walls as they carried each part of the bed downstairs... .. !! I'll use them again... and one of them told me he's a qualified appliance engineer so if I need anything repaired in the future to just call.

Left work early because I could. So there. I was tired. It's hard to work alone. NL was just getting there when I left. After a week off she'd gonna be ticked off at all the stuff Sir should have done but didn't.

It's sunny but still a little chilly. Supposed to reach 70 today and 75 tomorrow. We'll see. No wind again today. Yay.

Waiting for DD to bring the carpet cleaner downstairs so I can get on with it. I've already spot cleaned some stains and vacuumed. Now I just need the blankety-blank carpet cleaner.

Tonight out for dinner at a Japanese steak house to celebrate early for DGD's birthday. I don't wanna gooooooo. I just wanna go to sleep by the time they're ready to go out. Drat.

@jet Hope you're having a fine time and wishing you hadn't left @hollydolly and me behind..

Son, who is tennis coach for his school, is having a meet nearby so he will come here first and we will spend some time together. I need his help around this dump, and the cats need their nails cut. Will have lunch and he will be supplying me with eclipse glasses for tomorrow. I look forward to seeing him, my heart feels bigger and warmer just telling you guys about it. ❤️

I cleaned windows today. I discovered that instead of using dusters, scrunched up sheets of newspaper after spraying works beautifully. I cannot believe I have struggled for so long. The newspaper works quickly, even making the job enjoyable as it soaks up moisture and dirt far better, with sparkling results in no time.

Clean windows look so nice. Mind you, climbing on chairs to reach higher panes is no joke with my stiff knees. We pay a window cleaner to do all the outsides. I don't have him regularly, only about 3 times a year.

oooh this has been a thing forever. For as long as I can remember window cleaners have said to clean the windows using newspaper.

I can't do that because I don't buy newspapers any more

Carpet cleaned. Machine returned. Their garden center had next to nothing left of the 5/$5 plants. I did get a pot with six polka dot plants for $13.

Then we went to Home Depot where I got geraniums for a big pot at the back of the garden where I plant some every year and three pink snapdragons that I've been looking for. I want sunpatiens, but there aren't any in the multiple plant thingies yet. Maybe next week.

I still don't wanna go out for dinner tonight

So much for the idea of going out & about.

Hubby had a firewood order to deliver.
First he had empty the other old work truck & fill it.

I send him on his way with the cell phone.

Then I became involved with my flower beds.

I came in the house to fix lunch,,???
Car pulled in dropped off hubby.

He was a tad 'upset' that he couldn't call me with the cell phone.
Reminded him that he was supposed to use my name.

The call to our customer resulted in him send out his mechanic to help get the truck back on the road.
Hubby didn't take the cell phone with him this time.

Now its a waiting game to see if I need to rescue him.

I have just sent the best part of 2 hours putting a wheeled clothing rail and shelves together..

It's not that the directions were hard to follow but the difficulty lay in the dexterity of my sore hands hands.. and the tiny Allen Key and equally tiny screws , and having to hold one long pole which was made up of several pieces I'd screwed together.. to connect the base, when it was impossible to see the aligned screw holes.. much less hold the thing together with one hand, and try and screw the bottom rails with the other... *phew*.. with 2 people it would have taken about 30 minutes...

... then to top it all I'd been sitting on the floor doing the first half of it, and when I went to stand up there was nothing to hold onto.. and of course with the arthritic knees I should have known better that I can't get up without help any more , and got closer to something to help me up when I initially sat down.. so that was eye wateringly painful trying to stand up......but hoooorayyy I've got the rail done and it's standing strong, and got all the coats on that I bought it for... :D(y)

What a busy day it's been.

Aside from the men coming and dismantling the bed and a couple of other things... and taking them away.. and me putting the clothes rail together.
I've also changed the beds.. washed all the bedding and curtains.. and dried them... and a second load with normal laundry...

Also I got the high ladders out and got up and cleaned the Canopy over the back door.. and weeded all the path outside the back door..

I also made dinner of Minced beef, Mash and veggies...

It's 8.35pm..my back is killing me.. but I've still got a load of laundry in the dryer which will have to be put away...so for now.. I'm sitting down with a heat pad and a cuppa hot tea...

I dropped eye shadow on the tile and didn't realize I tracked it onto a beige rug so I vacuumed it and spot cleaned it. I think it all came out. Then I vacuumed the master bath floor and washed it, plus did all the bath mats in the washer. I have too many towels and need to find a new storage solution. I can't believe I have every closet filled in this house.

Danger! Little kids will run you over.

My Grandson's 5th Birthday Party was at a place called www.jumpnjammin.com inside a shopping mall. He invited not only the relatives but also his "transitional kindergarten" classmates to the party. First an hour jumping, then a pizza party in a private room, and then more jumping.

First picture: an 88 year old fool is competing with his 5 year old grandson who can climb up and slide down the fastest. Of course, I let him win. LOL

Last picture: it's enjoyable driving to the mall with flowers decorating the streets. This picture cannot do justice to the real sight. And a few streets have not only a sidewalk but also a dirt trail for hourses.

I cleaned the bathroom. I also made stuff today. Not a lot of food, nothing fancy but quick, easy things that were delicious. My son, an avocado fanatic, never had my avocado stuffed with egg salad dish. I made that for our lunch today and he said it was "amazing!". He told one of his buddies about it, so now his buddy is going to try it too. For dinner I made broccoli pizza using naan bread as the "crust" and instead of mozzarella, like I usually use, I finished the last of the block Muenster cheese I had in the freezer.

Then I made a quick dessert....chocolate "mousse" pie. I used Hunts sugar free chocolate pudding, whipped cream and a drizzle of agave. I blended the ingredients in my Magic Bullet for a couple of minutes, then topped with more whipped cream. I used a Keebler ready made graham cracker crust. I know next time to use at least one more container of pudding. My son hipped me to the fact that whipped cream does not have that much sugar in it, neither does the crust, so this is a much better option for my blood sugar than the mini pies I've been buying.

I also had a very interesting (as always) conversation with my honorary son this afternoon. Since we only get to talk every couple of months, we always have so much catching up to do and we were on the phone for almost two hours. I had him on speaker and enjoyed the witty banter between him and my son. They have been BFFs for about 40 years. Took a nap after dinner. Have a restful night everyone.
