Which doctor would you try to see with this symptom?

Debodun, I understand what you are talking about. Last Dec. I was going up some stairs and heard a loud pop in my hip flexor and felt warmth flow from my inner thigh down to my foot. I couldn't walk on that leg all night but the next day it was much better. I took it easy for a couple weeks and then was fine. I also have severe arthritis in my legs so now am stretching more and also strengthening and walking.

It was excruciating last night. It woke me up. I thought I'd never get beck to sleep - no position was comfortable. I finally took some NSAID and put heat on it. After a while I dozed off, but this is getting tiresome. I'm used to doing what I want when I want and this has pulled me up short.

I always wished I knew when people were going to buy and I'd only have to put those things out. It's going to be even more challenging this year. Look what I set up last year, than had to pack away again.
Maybe it will rain.
Why are you still playing around with this? Heat isn't always the best thing and NSAID's are hard on your stomach. You've complained about your doctor in the past, why aren't you seeking better medical care? Is a yard sale more important than your health?

Back on April 18th. when this 1st. began going to a hospital emergency room to get an evaluation done using the equipment emergency rooms at hospitals have were it me, would be my choice. To bad your insurance doesn't pay for an emergency room visit. Knowing you got the most comprehensive testing for a diagnosis IMO is worth the cost.

So
Look at setting up all the stuff you put away from last year as doing the PT your doctor recommended.

Maybe sometimes there is no help. All of February I was sidelined by extreme pain on the left part of my waist area. Tests showed nothing despite my agony. It's Old Age sometimes. Downhill. When I think about seniors living alone in rural areas far from help I think they can't let go of some unrealistic expectations.

You spend time writing us a questionnaire because you’re in pain. The questionaire had to do with your health. You have some serious health issues going on which we all address.
You finally go to emergency and wait 4 hours to see a doctor who prescribed pain killers and anti inflammatory pills.

There are plenty of other things you can do to elevate your pain. Having a garage sale isn’t one of them.

Physiotherapy does hurt when you first start doing it. It’s specific exercises to help you. When you see movies where people in hospitals have physiotherapy, they are always in pain going through it. Nobody just breezes through it with no pain

You went to the hospital for advice which you aren’t going to take. Are you now going to turn this thread into ā€˜having another garage sale ?’

I jumped ahead and missed the middle of that. I'm sure you should forget the Garage sale. Be it arthritis, veins / Artery problem or pinched nerve / groin injury. Think you will be slowed up for a bit. Have you slipped recently. Many elders get sidelined with Lower problems. Parkinsons comes to mind. If you notice jerking twitching as time passes. It is different for every victim. Ugh. Basically it takes you till you can't get around, out of bed even roll over for some. It doesn't always affect the upper parts until much later. Think about your parents and grandparents and their late life ailments. You may have some very tough decisions coming up. I Sure hope not.

I think she said she went to urgent care. Here urgent care doesn't have diagnostic equipment. Here in Las Vegas those are good for needs like fever, minor cuts <--- not deep cuts just cuts some have no clue on how to treat.

I saw two doctors and neither did anything to help me. One gave me exercises to do which make it worse and Prednisone which didn't help. My PCP only suggested I seek physical therapy.
Exercise(or PT) needs to be gentle in order to strengthen and keep the joint and/or muscle group flexible and pain free. NSAIDs are "problematic" as they increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Prednisone is really a 'wonder drug' but only intended for very short intervals of use. It may take some trial and error for you to find the right PT(exercise) routine to get you past your pain. I've been dealing with an old hip injury lately, I am changing to a less strenuous Yoga practice this week, I just have to keep conscious of my movements.

The doctors I've seen may be thinking I'm not telling the truth because the symptoms are not consistent. Sometimes bending over is excruciating, sometimes it doesn't hut very much. Same for getting out of bed and other motions. The discomfort varies also. Sometimes it's a sharp, stabbing pain, then it like electric shocks and then sometimes it feels like warm water inside my leg. When I explain this, the medics give me a lot of slde-long looks. Maybe they need consistent symptoms to diagnose.

Ok ā€˜URGENT care.’ The main point is that she asked for advice, got some advice from a qualified doctor and decided to dismiss it.
Urgent care like minor cuts wasn’t the care she needed. She probably chose that cause it’s cheaper. Money comes before common sense.

The old Smoke some if ya got it, may be helpful as it will relax you. think hard about the onset of Parkinsons. I was a 1st responder at our industrial plant and trained to notice the injured, sick employees. Help them till the Ambulence got to the door. Think hard about your relatives later life problems. Many of us don't really know what they went through in their final years. But try. There are a couple treatments that give relief for Parkinson's but no cures.

I have a PT next week, but the email I received today stated that it's only an "evaluation" which suggests to me is is an assessment only and no actual PT will be done.
Hi Debodum, when I had my initial PT evaluation, it served me well. Information about what was
going on with me was gathered. I continued on after that with PT sessions and still am active mostly
in PT since mid March. I am just sharing that PT for me is an ongoing thing, it has helped. I wish you
all the best in further diagnosing of what your specific issue might be and also with getting relief from
your current ailments.

I have had two minor changes, but can't see that that have anything to do with the leg problem:
1) I got a new bed
2) taking a different calcium supplement
Well keep at it Debodum, it can take time to get a proper diagnosis, take good care
of yourself, and be safe..

A woman I know goes to an acupuncturist. She feels good for a few hours, then the pain comes back, but she keeps going.

A relative had bad back pain and she's had numerous surgeries and even had a "cage" implant, Every procedure leaves her in worse pain than before. I mentioned that to the tech that took the x-ray at urgent care. She said that's the way with back surgery - it either cures you or leaves you crippled.

I go with Arterial problem or Parkinsons onset. See a specialist pronto, take it easy , try to relax. If you slipped or fell you pulled something.
Remember you actually can harm yourself while sleeping in a great bed, just dream a wild hunt, find type of dream. If you went to bed ok and woke up not so great that's what most likely happened.

Maybe the calcium supplement is causing your issues. Too much calcium causes belly pain, bone pain, muscle weakness, etc.

When was the last time you had your calcium level checked with a blood draw?

Deb, I hope the PT helps. I know it’s helpful for many people. I agree with the person that said check your calcium levels just in case because it can’t hurt. Back pain is miserable and I hope you find relief.
