Mine is pretty grim. I have this tendency to expect honesty, openness, fairness, reciprocity, and trust. I work to suppress it but sometimes it creeps out and this can really rub people the wrong way.

Me too.
I used to have a dark side that would make any villain in the Marvel Universe envious, if I had actually put my dark thoughts into action. But for the most part they stayed in my head. Now, my dark side consists of just clicking the invisible "block button" with someone who upset me until I am calm enough again to to mentally unblock them. I doubt most of the time that person even notices if I had mentally blocked them...lol.

How can I describe my dark side? It is dark, thus I cannot see it and much less describe it.

You asked us to describe our Dark Side...
Never realized when I was 18 (1970) that I had a 'dark side'.
Learning to load bomb after bomb to be dropped on people and I never gave it any thought!
Not one thought.
We loaded, they took off and I never once questioned my role.
Those affected were far away and it wasn't face to face, so I was off-the-hook.
Later, I started hearing about UXO's (Unexploded Ordnance) that are still causing injuries and deaths, even in 2024.
I Realize that War is War, but I question some of the strategies used during that period.
In 1990, during Desert Storm serving in the Middle East, I once again questioned 'Why'.
Pretty much an Air War; Sortie after Sortie launching , I have never seen such Air Power.
Was it really about Oil or something else?
They never really gave me an answer.
Kept these things bottled up inside till I retired in 1994.
Like so many Vets, we live with the choices we made.
