I made an online appt with I Got Junk they'll be coming this morning
Are their rates reasonable? I remember hiring them about 18 years ago. I think the rate was $200 for anything that would fit in the truck, but it was so long ago, I might be remembering that wrong.

I was considering hiring them again to haul out some stuff, but it won't be for a while.

That long and winding road that leads me to the street kerb dragging my full refug bin on wheels - the dog comes too on guard duty. Phew then the walk back with cane and dog again. Do it fortnightly ususally. Then back again with beating down sun to pick up empty vessel and return. Sounds simple but it sure is a drag! still no repeats until 3 wks perhaps? pottered around but couldn't face "housework" ladies is it a drudgery to you too or do you just breeze through it?

watched end of American Hustle - I just cannot follow that quick drawl but some lovely ladies in it! - then finally much rest and sleep overcame me after a quick cheesy /meaty lunch with a few tangerines thrown in and slept till 3.30pm - dog feeding soon and evenings repose?

4pm western time - shadows drawing long from the front porch - dog still snoring in the shower! - coolest place in flat. He starts bothering me soon for evening feed but its too hot to sit out - I usually like the mozzie coils a bit later and enjoy the falling sun - 4.30- 5pm would be a better option - I need to light the mozzie coils and tank me beer up - it is quite heavenly really

I had a lazy weekend into Monday, so yesterday I had to make up for it. Fell asleep last night before I had a chance to post about it.
I did two double loads of laundry, something I rarely do. One machine was bath mats, the other was bath linen and light colored clothes. I had to put away the clothes still left in the basket from last week due to my procrastination.

I feel I got my exercise because I made three roundtrips to the laundry room, walked to the supermarket and did lifting to transport the clothes and groceries. I also bent down several times to put the clothes in and take them out of my dryer. I only take out a few pieces at a time because I let the dryer keep going to prevent the items from getting wrinkled.

Today I plan to put the rest of the laundry away, thoroughly clean my shower curtain liner, do some shredding and straighten up a bit. This evening we are scheduled to give "Little Girl" her manicure. My son holds her still while I cut and buff her claws. If I get a "Round Tuit" I'll dry and wet Swiffer the kitchen and bathroom floors.
:D

Overcast morning.

Hubby upset because his helper didn't show up.

I looked at hubby , "told him when you got done with the logs in the woodlot,,you never mentioned going after those logs."
It really sounded like you were done working on any logs.

I didn't say the old saying,,"We can't read your mind."

IF his helper does show up, I'm to tell him which truck to hook to the trailer. Sigh 🙃

We bought a tub from Costco April 3rd. They shipped it out April 5. Early this month it was supposed to be shipped out. We waited all day and it never showed up. Apparently it went missing. We called Costco and they apologized and sent a new one out. It arrived today. The box it came in was all mangled and when I looked at it there was a big crack in the tub. Once they realized that they brought it back out of the bathroom. On the way out they knocked a picture off the wall and the glass cracked. There’s a big sliding mark down the wall AND our 3/4 inch tavern grade solid maple floor is now damaged. It’s a brand new floor we just put down. 😰

When my husband gets off the phone I’ll add pictures. I’m so ticked off. It’s been 7 weeks we’ve been waiting. We had a clear pathway for them to go through. I just didn’t think to take the picture down but I’m not a professional delivery person. These guys should have suggested we take the picture off the wall.

Sounds like the movers had a case of "Lets hurry & get this done."
It’s the second bathtub sent out.
Costco will be sending a third bathtub. The movers didn’t even strap it into the truck. Then the movers had the audacity to call to ask how we’d rate them from 1 to 10. My husband said zero and they hung up on him.
Note: husband said it was just a tape recording

It's been another Sunny warm day today..altho' it's very humid...

I drove over to the next largest town to buy some new Resin furniture for the garden. I have wood currently, and every year I treat it and paint it with wood-stain, but despite that, it looks tacky again after every winter... so I got the resin chairs instead..

Yeah, I have a nice articulated patio umbrella that is primarily wood and fabric. Both materials require a bit of care. They've had a long life but each Autumn I need to scrub and dry the fabric and wood then apply a light wood-furniture oil and hit the hinges with a few drops of 3-In-1. After airing I sheath it in a cotton bag with a plastic one over that. Way more effort than I want to continue, really.

I'll probably give it up and either give it away to my son or try to sell it. The biggest hassle is when wasps choose to cluster up inside it in warm weather if I leave it down after a storm. No fun grabbing the cord and hoisting it and having a big pile of wasps fall out all over me and start buzzing. It's a miracle I've never been stung. Badly.

Got Junk quoted me $700 or something in that area to move a sectional couch out. Clearly, they didn't want the job. Outrageous.

Yes I also the articulated Patio Umbrella, and I have to do the same as you, all winter in it's cover etc..and as you say it's way more hassle than it's worth... fortunately..touch wood.. no wasps thus far...

Mine's a nice forest green and I've always enjoyed the shade it casts. In the crispy Autumn it tended to gather and re-radiate available solar warmth, also a bonus. But there is the hassle of high winds which means letting it down and the fact that trees have grown denser to the South so I no longer need its shade.

Hi, kids. After work I did some planting here, some transplanting there, some digging, some filling in holes, some of a lot of stuff.

Then DD and I raided the garden centers. I'm not broke yet but think I'm done buying flowers for a long while. It's getting too hot to play in the dirt.

Today's loot will be planted early tomorrow morning.

I'm tired.

@hearlady I got my SunJoe thingie yesterday and got it all set up and tried it out today. Works great and I think it's gonna be one of my favorite garden tools!

I've weeded my little strawberry patch,,lots of blooms.
Cross fingers that I get a decent amount of strawberries,, hubby looks down at my patch.
I guess he thinks i don't know what I'm doing?

The drape is back up.

Hubby has gone for more saw parts,,, REALLY???
If I spend as much money as he does on his saws he'd probably being making rude remarks to me.

Guess I'll weed the flower by the front door,,put down some mulch.
Seems the dog likes to pee on that area.
