My favorite teacher was Miss Snyder. She went through her divorce while teaching at our school. That started a lot of rumors flying. She was very pretty and a well built woman, so the rumors were not very nice. Lots of guys drooled over her. I played football and basketball. She was the cheerleader coach and I was dating one of the cheerleaders. At the end of cheerleader practice, she would wait for me because I would drive her home. On Fridays, I couldn't take her home because I would leave after lunch and go to work, so I asked a friend of mine if he would take her home since he goes her way and she didn't like taking the bus.
Someone passed me a note on Monday and it read that he saw Belinda (my GF) kissing my friend that took her home on Friday. The note read that they were in a long lip lock. I thought it was from someone trying to make trouble so I showed it to her. She started crying and that's when I knew it was for real. She said she was sorry and wanted to tell me all weekend.
She said she didn't want us to breakup, but if I did, she would understand, I told her Ok, good-bye and I walked away. I think she was in shock because she just stood there for quite awhile. It was maybe a week before we spoke to each other. She kept asking me to call her and kept shaking my head "no."
Miss Snyder taught Advanced Math. I will admit that I was a bit of an egghead. A lot of what I learned came naturally without too much studying. During my Sophomore and Junior year, I also took summer classes to get ahead of everyone else. During my Senior year, I only had 2 classes. English and P.O.D. or Problems of Democracy. P.O.D. was a major subject and we studied about other country's governments. There were 8 classes a day, so I had a lot of study periods. Of course, we had 2 classes per week of Phys. Ed. and also the same for Music or Art, your choice.
Luckily, Friday after lunch, I had no classes, so I left for the day and went to work.
