What exercise have you done today?

Besides outdoor work, which I do virtually every day, I've become regular over the last month & a half with a half hour of exercise bike. I'm of the tentative opinion that doing the pedaling in the evening closer to bed time results in reduced stiffness and aches in the morning, noticeable right from when I'm first getting out of bed.

Doesn’t the adrenaline keep you up at night. I know if I swam at night, there’s no way I’d sleep.

To explain a little more, I'm saying that for me it seems better to be peddling sometime after 8pm rather than at, say, 5pm. I'm active during the day and peddling until, say, 8:30 is specifically intensive for the leg muscles, heart, and circulation. And it's enough of an energy output that, by maybe 10 or 10:30 I feel quite ready to sleep.

Today we went on a lovely walk. It was 21 degrees Celsius and bright & sunny. There was a nice breeze coming from the ocean.
There were spots where we could cool our dogs down with water from the river.

We walked 4.34 kilometres. The trail had wild irises growing along the side of the pathway. They looked really pretty.

We saw a lobster boat

The trees along the path offered just enough shade to make it comfortable.

This trail has benches placed approximately every kilometre as well as interesting things to see. This is a string of upside down bowls with a mallet attached to use. It sounded so beautiful

There was a cute little store right across the road.

I injured (re-injured) my hip, so I'll be missing two Yoga classes today. 😔. I might be able to walk my treadmill if the pain subsides.
Oh no. I can relate to re- injuring a part of self and not being able to do yoga. It really sucks.
I’ve substituted swimming in the place of yoga but hope to build up enough strength from swimming to start yoga again.

Today we walked 3 miles along the Atlantic Ocean side. It’s 27 Celsius but with a cool breeze coming off the water. It was perfect.

Sorry. This is my third time swimming with nobody else there. It feels like my own pool. I’m pretty lucky.

I completely understand how you feel. When I was living in California, I used to swim at the YMCA. They divided the pool into seven lanes for lap swimming, and if more than three people were in a lane, we had to swim in a counterclockwise direction. It was a real hassle.

However, since moving to Thailand, I've been spoiled rotten because I have our large community pool almost completely to myself most of the time when I swim in the early evening.

I do feel spoiled rotten but this won’t last forever. The place closes down in October. Then I’ll be doing senior swimming 2 or 3 times a week , at the pool in the school. They are one hour time limits which is perfect for me. The pools 1/2 Olympic size but heated. Hopefully I’ll like it. It has lifeguards watching.

Today we went on two shorter walks so not to overheat our dogs. One of the walks was completely new to us.

It wasn’t as shaded as our regular walk but the dogs loved it since it was all new. View attachment 352222
Trees offered some shade. View attachment 352223
This is a fairly new pathway but already has a nice bench seat right by the water. View attachment 352225
This flower is called lady’s slipper

My grandmother had a couple lady slippers out in her woods. We were instructed NEVER to pick them!

Your grandmother was right. Dont pick them.

Once established, lady slipper plants will
propagate on their own and live for many years if left undisturbed. Because a picked lady slipper will not rejuvenate itself, and the plant has a less than 5% transplant success rate, they are often considered “off-limits” for picking.
