How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Feeling weak & dizzy this morning. Had apple juice box cause it feels like low, very low, blood sugar. Will test blood in a little while, take my plethora of meds and will hopefully eventually feel better.

Had woken up after midnight, but managed to sleep till 4:30

I got up this way as well, but testing glucose showed slightly high (119). Bizarre. I'd slept right through the night for the most part though.

I blame the heat & humidity for putting me off.

I've just spent the last hour in the hot, hot garden.. looking for a space to replant the jasmine etc..

decided that because it's Hot, and I'm still sore from the fall yesterday, I wouldn't replant in the ground today... instead I've re-potted into bigger Barrel Pots.. and added more compost and a little Miracle Gro...

One of the Azalea diamond reds is already flowering...

Thank you. I am back up now, coffee in hand, working. I'm hoping to not have to pull an all-nighter tonight to meet the second deadline; if I have to do that I will miss my weekly coffee meetup with my friends. So I will get cracking!

Started a load of laundry.

Deadheaded flowers. Watered flowers. Lawn is still being watered.

Made hummingbird nectar and waiting for it to cool before putting it out.

There's still water in the birdbath.

This is my life in the fast lane I bet y'all are jealous, right?

I watered the entire yard's bushes , flowers, and most of the veg garden. It's getting too hot. DH can finish this evening.
I'm keeping up on keeping things alive until this high pressure dome moves off. It does this every year but it seems a bit early this year.
@hollydolly our azaleas have come and gone. Even the late ones.

We are having a light breeze and some scattered clouds. That helps.
Dry spell is supposed to break next week.

Turned the sprinkler off because the sun has moved around to the lawn, and I don't want to burn it.

When I've been going to lunch lately, I'm either sitting alone or other residents joined me. I know most of them by name now.,always say'Hi' They ask how I'm adjusting, I tell them 'I love living here,staff/ residents have been very welcoming & helpful,food is really good'

I'm glad but unsurprised that you've adjusted well and are happy there. Knowing you here for the past seven years, it's pretty clear your inner joy shines through no matter where you are, who you're with or what you're doing.

Hubby & I were off to Home Depot.

He tried to start the hedge trimmer last night,, couldn't get to running.
Its electric.
The new one has a rechargeable Battery,, waiting. for it to charge.

Bought some screening to cover the squash & tomatoes.
I bought more flowers.

To get them into the ground in this heat wave ,,, what was I thinking?

We stopped at ALDI while we were in the area.

Not going out today. It's the humidity, not the 90+ temps. Woke up under very low blood numbers and that usually throws me off for the day anyway. Tried twice to do laundry but it seems all my neighbors had the same idea. Will try laundry for the third & final time in a few minutes.

Been checking daily with DD. Grandson (12) is still sick with ear infection and throat infection. It's been two weeks now.
Two urgent care visits and one pediatrician appointment and several different meds over that time. Yet another pediatrician appointment tomorrow.

I went. They saw. They conquered. They being Lowe's. Didn't go to Home Depot because it was too damn hot. I only went so that I could get something for a hanging pot where I took down and moved a hummingbird feeder.

Oh, well. It's only money. I work. I deserve to spend it on whatever I please.

He rarely gets ear infections - not even once a year. That this one is so stubborn is both bizarre and concerning. They gave him a very strong version of Z-pack meds earlier this week, but they're not having much effect. This after amoxicillin and then something else.

Hoping the doc has something up his/her sleeve tomorrow.
