Do you have your groceries delivered?

As my health deteriorates and walking is painful , I have decided it is best to order the weekly shopping online, have it delivered. It takes all the pressure off. I've always enjoyed shopping and browsing, it was a great pleasure. Now it is just too fatiguing.

Also, I have requested my medicines to be delivered, which was easily arranged. I feel it is a bit like giving up in a sense but on the other hand it is sensible.

Have you put these changes into effect?

I’m glad you found all the right people to help you. Try to get some exercise though or your joints will literally seize up.

When we first moved here, we had to have our groceries delivered to us for the first 2 weeks. The service was excellent . I hope yours is as good.

Signed up with Sams during the Pandemic but Snowball loves to go shopping!
A few trips a week and walking around is good for us.

Usually every day for a couple o hours we are about & walking really big stores &
stretching out too with Walking across Large parking lots, lots of exercise.

Spur of the stuff ideas and Amazing ordered and Prime deliveries.

One of my neighbours works at home 2 days a week and he has all his shopping delivered to him while he is working - I think that's a great idea :)

I don't order much online as I view going out to the shops as good exercise but, if I had mobility problems, I would definitely order all my shopping online. There is no sense in making life more difficult for ourselves and, hopefully, having your shopping delivered will be a great help.

I take it Snowball is a beloved dog.
Thats sweet.

Yes, I have my groceries delivered and can choose from several stores. It is handy for me since I do not have a car. I am very happy with this service.
In actual fact here we can if we are unfortunate to be in the position where we can't or don't want to leave the home.. we can simply buy anything at all online... from groceries, to cars, to utilities, to houses, to phones, hairdressers and beauticians to come to the home, to clothing, .. you name it.. if you can buy it we can buy it online here.. and have mg loads of places we can choose to buy...

I do, for the most part I think they do a descent job. Occasionally I'll get a larger/smaller size than I ordered, or perhaps a piece of fruit that's too ripe, that sort of thing , but again I am pretty happy overall.

I get my groceries delivered these days, and have for most of the past year. I place online orders between two stores most of the time.
Service and delivery have been excellent ... no problems.

It became necessary to do this when I quit driving due to bad eyesight, and I also found that walking around a grocery store was getting to be a painful experience too.

My daughter, and also granddaughter often offer to take me if I ever want to get out, but I usually decline.
It's just become so easy to have everything delivered to my door.

Yes I have my groceries delivered, my meds delivered and a house call to have my blood tested

And like GoneFishin ... I get Medical Help thru my health insurance, that comes to my home when doctor service is needed.

My sympathies on your arthritis, and commiserations from a fellow sufferer. The reason we don't use the delivery service is because it's not possible to pay for it with cash. Cash being the only way left to pay and remain anonymous. The intrusion of being profiled gives me the creeps, so when shopping, cash and the avoidance of loyalty cards, is the way to keep out of sight of Big Brother.

Today our supermarket spend was quite a sum. The shocked look on the cashier's face and that of shoppers in the queue made me smile. Ignoring the pay by electronic gizmo that was turned towards me, I handed over the payment in cash and clearly visible was the fifty pound note. There is another benefit to paying in cash. You don't get a letter that on opening, you share that shocked look that I saw today, when you see your total spend and think...............Wow! I spent that much?

Yes, for the medications delivered it is very convenient and saves the hassle of getting to the pharmacy
I still prefer to go to the store and choose my food rather than a delivery it’s fun to go
For me and I can choose fresher vegetables and meat But I have used Walmarts delivery from time to time when I’m not well enough to get out
