Gay Pride Month... Part 2

The reason there were laws where gays could be arrested, jailed, discharged from the service, and were considered mentally ill, is that the Bible, and Christianity said homosexuality was a sin. Religion is not a silent witness to gay oppression; it is a major component of it.
I don't think that's true at all. I can't picture psychologists saying, well there are places in the Bible that say homosexuality is wrong therefore it's a mental illness. If anything, much of modern psychology goes against the Bible. It's been telling us almost since the beginning that we shouldn't feel guilty about things and sex is good. Then there are all the non-Christian countries that have laws against homosexuality. China listed it as a mental illness until recently and still doesn't allow same sex marriages.

"every other post you made was about posting or complaints about other posters , not about the topic."

So when others make derogatory remarks about myself, I should just ignore them ? If those posters would have stuck to the topic themselves, we wouldn't be having this conversation.
No one would make derogatory comments about you if you didn't pop in to add negativity to other people's threads and act like a petulant 3 year-old having a tantrum because you have nothing of substance to add but "won't be silenced". :ROFLMAO: You seem to be very triggered. Time for some self-reflection.

Maybe you and @gruntlabor should start a thread of your own about how great it was to live in the 50's when men were not effiminate and there were no "man hugs". ;)

It's not the 1950s anymore.

Men are more effeminate now not because of the decade they come from but because of estrogens in today's food supply and because so many are raised by neurotic women and without the influence of a father.

On that happy note…I spent three days in beautiful San Francisco last week and it looked just like any other beautiful city. Must say I was looking forward to a parade or something…didnt see anything much.
I remember you mentioning that you were going to visit San Francisco. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Since the original thread devolved into a s*** show, here are the reasons for Gay Pride month. There is a lot of history. If you don't agree with it, feel free to move on.
I thought long and hard about how and if I should respond to this (after all, we're in page five), not seeing the initial thread, I do not know what the s*** show was, but I don't like the thought of you telling me to move on if I don't agree with you. While ignoring you and your superior thoughts would be the easier thing to do, I resent your belief that my intellect or opinion is inferior and should not be stated unless it aligns with yours. Case in point, if I started a thread named "White Straight Pride Month" would anyone object, and would any of those objections be justified, or should I just say, "If you don't agree with it, feel free to move on."?

Please consider everyone here has lived a full and diverse life and we are all different, raised and educated in different societies and beliefs, and all just as justified in our opinions as you are. Please consider these truths when posting your beliefs, thoughts and opinions.

So .... if we do not agree we should just move on ? Are we not to voice opposition to it ? Well, I do oppose it , and will not remain silent about it.
Actually, if we were all to remain silent it might just make the point. After all it was a famous Gay man who said:
"The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about."
Oscar Wilde.

So here once again you imply that only positive comments are welcomed . So when I do make a negative comment on a subject, your only retort is to insult me. Talk about a petulant child, go look in the mirror.

Phar Canal, lots of spin and not much traction.

Revisiting this thread to marshal my arguments because we just heard that hub's relative who is pro-life, anti-gay, fundamentalist is coming to visit.

Remember: Jesus never said a single word about abortion or homosexuality.
He mostly talked about healing the sick, feeding the poor, and not judging anyone.

I thought this thread was locked, I was going to through in something about gay pride month before it was over...it's July 1st now, oh well maybe save it 'til next year.
