Do you still write checks?

Writing checks is now considered "Old School". Fewer and fewer businesses are accepting checks. Target announced that they will stop accepting checks this month. Personally, when I'm in line at the grocery store, and the person, at the register, whips out a check book, Awwwwwwww. What's even worse, is the dreaded overhead announcement, "Manager to Register 3 for check approval".
Do you still write checks at stores?
No, I only write checks for utilities and donations. Otherwise at stores I use a debit card. Still takes the money from my bank account.

I still write checks but not in stores. I haven't seen anyone do that in a long while.
I watched a fellow try to break $100 dollar bill at a Petro mart. The Clerk had to go to the Safe for to change it.
Cash would seem a missing link to society anymore. Cost too much to print it. So many things over $5 now.
They want you to round it up to Even Dollar and give the change away for some Tent person.

Yes. I did finally bite it and I have a debit card on the way. I don't plan to use it much. Seriously, the only place I shop that would not take my credit card would be WINCO Foods. They do not take credit. Just debit. I pay cash at thrift stores.

I write checks for rent, utility and my credit card that I pay off every month. My cable, cell and Covered California goes on my CC.

I had been set up for online banking. Really liked it. Then when I got on my stepfather's accounts I quit because all his stuff showed up when I logged on to pay my bills and I didn't want to see his stuff so I went back to paper.

I haven't written a check in a store in years and years. I always had mine ready and filled out. And oh how I remember those that took forever with their check.

I pay by cheque for my car insurance (or it might be my building insurance, one or the other) and also to the bloke who services my boiler.

If whoever requires cash, then they get cash. If they accept cheques, they get cheques. If they accept debit cards, they get a debit card payment.
If they only offer payment by apps or online, they don't get it.

I never write checks at retail stores but I still average writing 2 or 3 a month. Property tax requires additional fees to pay with credit card. Occasional landscaper fees, pay by check. Guy who seals driveway, pay by check, have a tradesman do a service at my home, pay by check. I never have enough cash on hand and many small businesses are cash or check only.

I pay routine bills by echecks but can't figure out how so many never have to write checks.

I still pay a few bills by check (gas, electric, etc.) but it amounts to about 5 a month. Almost everything goes on the credit card, which gets paid in full every month.

What I hardly ever use any more is cash.

Looked back thru credit union statements. Yep wrote one in Feb of 2023. Had decent gambling winning. I knew tax would have to be paid so instead of spending the win, I decided for added convenience to open a checking account with a local bank branch. No interest on the account just there for convenience.

I can understand writing a cheque for some things like this. Cash can disappear into the ether sometimes and you have a record that you paid.
