Continuing on my 5 day trip to Dorset... I visited The seaside town of Weymouth an hour along the shore from Poole...

It's a fascinating place with so much more to offer than just the sand and seaside family aspect.. with a fabulous picturesque Harbour..

Really need several days to visit all that Weymouth has to offer , but I was just there for one afternoon...

Incidentally the drive between the two towns is through some of the most spectacular countryside in the UK that I've seen outside of Scotland.. but fortunately they make it difficult to stop to take pictures..

Thank you for posting these @hollydolly, I love Weymouth, the jurassic coast is stunning. Hopefully we are going to fit a trip in at some point this year. We love Lyme Regis too. I am hoping you visited there as well on your trip. :)

Thanks Trish... I definitely wanted to get to Lyme Regis but we had absolute torrential rain for 2 days of my trip and so that cut down the time I had to visit anywhere .. I got to Corfe Castle Ruins and to Abbotsbury Sub tropical gardens but that's the best I could manage. I think I put more miles on my car in 3 days than I have in 3 months..getting between places..:D

You fitted a lot into your trip, hopefully you will get to Lyme Regis another day. Lyme Regis has a lovely beach where you can hunt for fossils and, at least when we were there, is not as busy as Weymouth. I am a fan of both though so, visiting either is always a treat :)

The fact that I was on my own.. the fact that there was no Internet available at the Caravan... and the fact that I'm such an avid photo taker, and the possibility I won't go down there again...all spurred me on to get to see as much of the areas as possible...

I tell you my car covered more miles on that 5 day trip than it has in as many months...
