How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

The last few days have been busy...

Thursday was library mystery book club meeting and it was was just as fun/ mentally stimulating as always. One of my fave days of the month :geek:

Ed had skin cancer removed from the side of his head about a week ago, I've been going every day and doing his wound care/ dressing change. (Healing nicely, thank you). When I got there Friday, some bozo had apparently finished their fast food just as they passed his house on the way out of town and dumped all the trash by his mailbox. Arrrggghhh... I rooted out a grocery bag and picked it all up.

Also went yesterday and spent part of the afternoon with my daughter; we watched about the first 2/3 of "Wit," an HBO movie from 2001 (I think) with Emma Thompson. I saw it before I became a nurse and now that I've been a nurse many years, I appreciate all the more for how (at least in *one* movie) Hollywood portrayed a nurse accurately (caring, advocating for the patient, educating, etc... not the usual 'sexy' nurse or the battle axe). Worth a watch

Today was more relaxed... Church, lunch at the Mexican Restaurant, visit Ed and time to read and enjoy Ben Maton's weekly YouTube video drop. 🎶🎹🎵

It's just after midnight Monday and I got so involved with catching up with posts here that I'm late posting what I accomplished yesterday. I wound up not sorting the clothes until just before I went down to do laundry around 3 a.m. I was going to go earlier but I saw some young men on the courtyard who I didn't recognize, so I waited until they left. They would have to either be residents or friends of residents otherwise they couldn't get onto the property.

When I brought the clothes upstairs, they were sitting at the picnic table talking. I recognized the boy I had a talk with a couple of weeks ago and he asked me how I'm doing. Bless his heart, my talk worked and he no longer parks himself on my patio railing.

I stayed dressed (in my street clothes) so I would be ready to go to the supermarket when it opened. When I came back, I disinfected the groceries, all of which went in the fridge or freezer, before putting them away. After that I started drying my clothes. It's was a hot day and of course I walked to the store. I was tired by the time I finished those things. I did the "SOS" things, of course (my reply #7,550) . I was happy to see my son, who got back home from his trip later than expected, so he wasn't here long before he went to bed. I gave him some breathing room and I'll hear about his trip tomorrow.

Mor\ning gang, oops, shows I don't belong on keyboard this
early morning, woke at 4am, temp is 83F to start!!! that means
a terrible hot stuffy day ahead, no rain scheduled acc to radar,
Last eve I put out hot dog cut in half with anti mange pills stuffed inside them two halves, anxious to see my game cam if
the fox ate them down, fox came thru front yard not long after I put it out, ......too hot too hard to breathe, not a fun time right now, but who promised fun anyway!!!! catch u later....;):love::coffee:

Very overcast day today..I wanted to get laundry done, but my dryer broke down just before I went on my trip, so for now I'm having to dry laundry on the line in the garden, and the forecast is for rain later today and tomorrow

I just had a mail from my lawyer... she's having a real battle trying to get HIS lawyers to reply to her mails.....

On Wednesday I have an appointment at the hospital to have the steroid injections in my knees..... Lawyers will ring when i get home and discuss the next move... .. it's all so unnecessarily stressful..

Another hot and muggy day here and nothing really planned for today. The next three days will be busy for us.
Tuesday, Thelma has an eye appointment. Wednesday, she goes to have toe nails cut and Thursday, I go to have this miserable cast off..I hope. The doctor said last time, something about a support that can be removed when needed. I’m so sick of sponge baths..😡

Heavy rains overnight with winds. Flood advisory again through 9:15, since the ground was already saturated so it all flowed pretty much as it fell. 70 F, high of 87 expected. More of the same expected overnight again tonight.

Need to run the car until the fuel level is half a tank or below for the recall repair on Wednesday. Fuel pumps are inside the tank these days. Dealership hasn't done many of these yet, so they asked for more time to get it done correctly instead of rushing to meet the manufacturer estimate. At least it doesn't cost me anything.

@hollydolly
HIS lawyers aren't replying to YOUR lawyer's emails now? That's irresponsible on their part!

Thought those of you who who aren't British or German and may not be familier with these holiday homes...might like to see inside the rental caravan on a holiday Park.. much smaller in size than American Mobile homes...

Most Caravans on the Park looked like this..altho' there were a few privately owned variations...

Camp.jpg

they are VERY hot inside... the interior is very small... 12x28 ...inside... the passageway is very narrow about 18 inches wide, so if the bathroom door gets opened, it's impossible to open the opposite bedroom door at the same time without causing damage to each door.... they all open outwards..

caravan-7.jpg

the bed is just 4 feet wide...and between the bottom of the bed and the bedroom door, there's just enough space to get in, and no more. There is no space at all for any other furniture than the bed...

Many American campgrounds offer similar accommodations, though considerably larger than 12 X 28, and generally refer to them as cabins. As per your photos, they're quite nice inside, with full kitchens and bathrooms, though the ones we've seen also have heat and AC.
Sometimes my daughter & her family enjoy short camping vacations with DH & me. We rent a space for our RV and they rent a cabin.

Bless you Hawky for giving medicine to that poor fox. Not many would try to treat a suffering wild animal. You have my utmost respect. 🌹

As always,

enjoyed his morning walk. But I was glad when we were done....it's so sticky and humid!!!! We might go swimming in the lake this afternoon, otherwise you'll find me hiding indoors!

That's all I've got, for now. I think I'll go clean out some of the excessive 💩 that is being stored on my tablet.

Stay cool, everyone!

How is that legal? They are required to respond, aren't they?
I have no idea... as I said my lawyer will call me on Wednesday to discuss further ... but in her mail she said that if there's no response from them before then, she can only now advise me to issue a Financial Application given the lack of response...

.......and that will cost me a fortune...

Took a drive out of town to buy groceries, specifically intending to burn some gasoline and get the tank down to half full by Wednesday. A 40 mile round trip, but even with economy mode turned off and pushing 85 mph on the highway it only used one gallon of fuel.

I suppose I need to plan another, longer daylight trip for today. No sense asking for trouble with a lot of unnecessary night driving. Then much the same tomorrow, since I have almost 200 more miles to drive to get down to half a tank.

Why would you need to get it down to half a tank?

Happy Monday, July 15th morning to all! Wow - mid July already!

Had a great time with TGS over the weekend, but was happy to have a quiet evening last night and a true morning swim today. Can't swim with a splash-happy toddler in my arms! Ah, but he'll be past this age before I know it so no complaints.

Have a great day, everyone!

Hot and sticky here again. Took doggie out; we couldn't wait to get back in. Thank goodness our wooded path is much cooler under the trees, but in the front it's murder.

I want to go out to pick up a few things I want; inexpensive luncheon plates and more watermelon but without A/C in my car, it's just not worth it.

I know I have to have it fixed but I'm afraid to disturb it or it will deflate into a pile of steaming junk.

I am having a terrible day. I learned this morning that my SUV needs a new computer. I about flipped. It all started on Saturday while driving down on the Interstate and I heard my engine go slowly down until it went off and then I got a banging noise through the speakers. At first, I thought it was the Amplifier because I had something similar to that happen before.

I took it to the GMC garage this morning and I found out the computer is shot and the truck's warranty expired 2 months ago. Doesn't it figure? The good news is that only the engine computer went out. The service manager gave me a price of $1200 installed. It will get put in on Wednesday.

Like Gilda Radner said, "It's always something."
