Walking barefooted? How often do you, if at all? Health benefits?

I mostly walk barefooted indoors. Outdoors, I mostly tend to stub my toes
and so choose to wear some sort of sandal, flipflops or whatever when outdoors.
Overall though, I prefer shoes, any comfortable shoes when outdoors...

How about you?

I have always had something on my feet. I wear Stegmann clogs in the house & New Balance running shoes everyplace else. I need the support for my back & I now have a heel spur giving me fits.
Yep, my feet are in bad shape. ( I wore those hard rubber calf high boots only and everywhere for years ) now my feet have all kinds of funky maladies, so I wear good comfortable tennis shoes.

I stepped on an earring, it's post part, it's hook that goes through went straight up my foot, over 1/2 inch of spikey metal. I felt it, but didn't feel it. Pulled it out of my foot, and there was no blood. This was during my winter surgeries on left leg when the nerves in my feet felt like fire with every step. Even though the procedures cured my leg, my feet are very numb. I can feel pressure but that's about it.

I'm diabetic, with neuropathy, so I'm supposed to wear shoes in the house, but I can't for too many hours so at home I'm usually barefoot though I shouldn't be.

On the anniversary of losing my husband, I lit a candle and it exploded! I stepped on a jagged piece of hot hot glass and barely felt it at all. Luckily, it didn't cut me, as I'm on blood thinners for my leg problem.

I'm an effing mess! :ROFLMAO:

A friend of mine insists that walking barefooted whenever possible has health benefits..
I'm always barefoot at home, except might wear socks when it's cold.
I used to run quite a bit barefoot, usually on tracks or grass, and usually ran track races barefoot.
Since I'm alone now and don't usually use any heat in the winters, the bare concrete floor does get cold.

It’s not a good idea if you have carpeting in your home. In our home in Florida, if you go barefoot, I keep throw away socks at the door, so when you come inside, you can slip a pair on.

Grew up "in the country" and going barefoot whenever possible, which was any time at home. Picked up stickers now and then but never phased me. That was just the way it was. Good times.

Now days I wear flip flops 99% of the time year round inside and out, often even out shopping. My feet feel free but supported. Still don't like shoes and socks and get out of them as soon as possible.

My favorite flops in no particular order are REEF Deckhand, SPERRY Baitfish and SOLE Sport. I always order 1/2 to 1 size down from my shoe size.

I used to trust my feet to keep my toes out of trouble near obstacles and hazards but no more. OUCH. Now my mind will automatically retract my toes when near any possible dangers. Never trust your feet :ROFLMAO:

When I can't find my socks, and I walk around in just my socks when I can't find my shoes.

Paddling in the sea is better barefooted than doing it with shoes on.... well, you don't have to take my word for it. 😊
