Some sunglasses sure are pricy!
Others not so much.

You let someone steal your sunglasses?I have one(1) Ray-Ban Predator that I bought 25yrs ago or so.
Would cost $145 to replace today.
Love the curved lenses. My eyelashes don't hit them. That would be annoying.
I used to have two Ray-Ban's but someone liked one of them and took them about 15yrs ago.
I watched them do it LoL and made it a gift to them.

Transition glasses. That’s what mine are. I no longer wear my prescription sunglasses since I have transitions. I like them much better. I don’t have to keep changing glasses when I go outside or try and read my gps in the car.I have transition eyeglasses so don't need sunglasses.

It's the same for me, if my sunglasses are too darkly tinted, they can cause me to stumble.I have one inexpensive pair. However, wearing these sunglasses is now causing me to stumble. Maybe they are too darkly tinted. So I avoid wearing them when walking long distances.
For years I've got by with work issue dark safety glasses. I had a cataract surgery a few weeks ago and I just spent $AUD 269.00 on a pair of polarised Oakley sunglasses. The Maui ones were $359.00.Since I had cataract surgery a few months ago, everything is quite a bit "brighter". So, now, I keep sunglasses in the car, truck, workshop, near the front door, etc. If I step outdoors on a sunny day, I have a pair of sunglasses handy wherever I am.
Transition? Is that when the lens goes from clear to dark when the sun is shining? Mine do that, the optician described it as photochromic.I have transition eyeglasses so don't need sunglasses.
Back in 1970 I was driving into the mountains wearing a new pair of those. Drove into a long tunnel at 70 mph and was instantly blind. Lesson learned . . .Transition? Is that when the lens goes from clear to dark when the sun is shining? Mine do that, the optician described it as photochromic.
