Senior toenail issues male

old male first time effort any advice very much appreciated prefer an other male - can reach em seem work on them like I want.....

My friend Misa, works on my toes. I use "Tee Tree Oil" after they are trimmed and cleaned. My big toes have a tendency to grow inward on the outside. She has to keep that from happening about once a month.

This is a lady’s issue, too, in my opinion, at least it is if you do not go to a salon and have your nails done by some professional. Here is what I have found works for me, and it is my dog nail grinder.
I got this to use on Marco Poodle because it is hard not to accidentally clip a toenail too short when using the dog nail clippers. The grinder takes a little longer, but it is safe to use and never hurts him.
After clipping my toes (YOUCH ! ! ) while trying to use the toenail clippers on my toes, and not being able to bend around well enough to actually see what is toe and what is toenail, I decided to try using the dog toenail grinder on my own toes.
It works great !

Amazon has a variety of these in all styles and prices. The one I got was several years ago, and is no longer listed, but I had just ordered a cheap one because I didn’t know how well it would work on my dog. Here is what mine looks like, and I imagine there are even better ones out now.

Yep, use dental floss to avoid the problem. I actually use the little pick style where the floss is strung between two sides. Also found out I am genetically prone to problem nails. This is a condition that comes along with psoriasis. Ingrown nails, nail buckling, nail thickening. Never had any problems with my fingernails only the toenails.

Had to have one big toe removed for the most part. It has grown back. Do use a grinder to thin my nails to keep them from bucking up. The floss/pick I discovered on my own.

If you are diabetic, don't mess with your feet. See a podiatrist to have routine foot care. Medicare only covers it if you are diabetic! I worked for BCBS medicare division years ago, oddly enough I was placed in a small dept. that covered feet and ambulance care under review for payment.

I am a bit like you, boliverchadsworth, I have trouble cutting
my toenails too, for a while, I could sit on the bed or sofa,
pull my leg up, till I got my foot on the bed or sofa, not any
more, now I have to stand on the floor and lift my foot on to
the bed, this is OK, as long as I don't feel dizzy while doing it.

Mike.

As a toddler I could even suck on my toes. Meanwhile I'm happy that I can cut my toenails without any problems. Seems I'm getting old :ROFLMAO:.

Og, one of my favorites "god memorandum"

there is no someone else thus my inquiry try to keep up pls
I go to a podiatrist at our med center every 3 months. Small co-pay after Medicare kicks in.
This^^^^ or
This.
Our neighbour is over 70 and disabled. He goes to a podiatrist to get his nails clipped.
If you can’t get an appointment, you might try nail grooming services. They trim and paint nails. It’s probably cheaper getting it done by them.
