Political donations in Canada by private individuals, who are Canadian citizens are limited to just $1,725.00 per year. That amount is what is allowed for donations to a candidate who is running for office at the municipal, Provincial or Federal level. In addition, donations to political parties by individual Canadians are limited to $1,725.00 per year, and donations to political party leaders are also limited to $1,725.00 per year. Political candidates in Canada can only donate $5,000.00 to their campaign fund. These facts come from Statistics Canada and Elections Canada sources. Limits on Contributions – 2024

In Canada, Corporations are NOT ALLOWED to contribute to any Political Party, or Candidate in any level of election, Municipal, Provincial, or Federal. I will repeat that. NO Corporate donations to any party or candidate are allowed in Canada.

My point is that running for political office in Canada at any level is not a matter of "the person with the most money wins ". JIMB.

Our congress has been trying to pass political donation laws for quite some time, including (if not specific to) prohibiting corporate donations. Since many congress members receive substantial corporate donations, as you can imagine, passing this type of bill has been an equally substantial challenge. :(

I know SuperPACs are incredibly harmful to the USA too. All are owned and fork up a lot of cash for their advertising.
Every summer / fall I receive tons of total crap bulletins.

The Crazy part about Corporate hate is its actually Billionairs that distance themselves from Corporations. Call it Dictator type B.S.
Give it any name you want but its, "do what I say, not what I do because I am special" Uh I am very rich.

How many I am very Rich repeats you heard in the last 10 years. They used to keep a low profile.

Similar laws exist in the US, but the PAC's get around it and pour millions into the campaign coffers. I was once told by the president of the company I worked for to donate my own money and my vote to a designated candidate. Most of the persons in that room remained silent. I knew I would soon be retiring and had nothing to fear and became the only audience member to speak up. I simply said that the request was out of line and should not be mandated by the company. I don't know and never asked if anyone succumbed to the demand, I never felt any impact either.
