The new ''Queen''....today

..and with her adult kids and grandchildren

The Queen appeared in high spirits as she enjoyed lunch in the picturesque Scottish village of Ballater with members of her family today.

The King's wife, 77, smiled broadly and waved goodbye to her children, Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopez, along with a number of her grandchildren, before stepping into her waiting car.

Looking tanned and casually dressed, she opted for jeans, a shirt and jumper with a green quilted jacket and loafers for her outing in Ballater, which is the nearest village to Balmoral Castle, where the King arrived today to start his summer residence.

The photographs of the happy family gathering emphasise just what a close relationship Camilla has with her two children by her first marriage to Andrew Parker Bowles and her grandchildren - who call her Gaga.

Not getting the issue - Camilla is wearing standard type casual winter wear at a casual event. Why is this a sad thing or even a notable thing?

she doesnt have to have the same personal clothing choices as the previous queen or anyone else.

Ive seen plenty of pictures of Kate wearing similar - somehow it is an issue because it is Camilla??

The British royal family? King / Queen are just a painful nonexistence to most Citizens of the USA. Non citizens here & good riddance? Royal snobs ? ... ... [WTFC's!] ... Social suckers? Basically economic bleeders.
May the British people grow up some century.

Grow up? We have deep rooted traditions, and we should be proud of them. The counter to your argument is the amount of tourism they bring to our great nation. The income to the country is estimated at 1.6bn annually, though the figure is disputed and is difficult to be exact about.

The United Kingdom has been built on a foundation of our institutions and traditions, and the Royal Family are a big part of that. What people in the US think is beside the point.

Australia, England sent all it Criminals there.
And you think the Royals really care about you. Haha
I don't give a crap about Royalty Crap. Its not personal,
its boring Ugly B.S. Ugly is the point. Big noses are prominant! ... :coffee: ...
Of course the Boys are right! ... Why should I want to save their asses ~!

The Royal Family have no idea who I am. They're a figurehead, not a personal friend. As I said, they're a key part of our rich heritage. Some people respect their histories.

England sent around 160,000 prisoners to Australia, which was part of our colonial past. Looking at Aussie now, they did pretty well.

As I said, as an American (I assume you're American), it doesn't much matter if you dislike the Royal Family. Some people here dislike them, it's all good.
