Do you still make wishes?

I'm listening to a children's sleep story podcast that's really cute but also thought provoking. It's called Koala Moon.

I like how the stories highlight the imagination of children. In one story, the children are making wishes that the fairy can make come true.

As an aside, the narrator noted that she doesn't make wishes when she blows out the candles on her birthday cake anymore. She says that perhaps she should do that again. Sometimes as we get older, we get jaded and stop believing in things like wishes.

I think a wish is just a hope, and it's nice to articulate hopes sometimes, if not often. After I heard that, I made a list of wishes. My birthday is not for a while.

Do you still make wishes when you see a falling star or blow out the candles on a birthday cake or just whenever you feel like it?

therefore, i don't talk about this to anyone but i don't know why i share this with you. because you asked innocently for a reason -- and your sincerity was undeniable? so i couldn't lie.
I liked the edit. Very nice.

It's nice to see that you haven't given up hope that some people might heed your suggestions. It's nice to have hope.

Welcome to the forum.

I thought about making wishes last night. I used to make wishes when I blew on dandelions to blow the seeds to the wind. Since I definitely have dandelions in my yard . lol I’m going to do that today. 😊

Ok Caramel, since you started this topic, what do you wish for? OR maybe you can’t tell anyone because then it won’t come true??

One thing I like about writing down wishes is that I find they often come true without my having to think about them.

I originally heard the sleep story in early August. At that time, I wrote down a quick list of wishes. At that time, it was stifling heat, and I was too exhausted to order anything from the store. Here's a couple wishes.

I wished for the heat to reduce and for there to be more fun snacks to eat. Later, when the heat did reduce, I bought some sweet potato potato chips, jalapeno potato chips, strawberry fig bars and animal crackers, some fun treats. Wishes granted!

Not much magic in these, but sometimes I'm amazed.

Isn’t saying a prayer another way of making a wish? I pray or make wishes often.
Depends on how you want to see it. Some people seem to think there's a difference.

Here's one person's opinion.

A "prayer" is commonly understood as a structured form of communication directed towards a deity, higher power, or spiritual force. It often entails specific words, postures, or rituals. A "wish," on the other hand, is more casual and represents a yearning or desire for something to come true but doesn't necessitate a spiritual context.

Prayer vs. Wish: What’s the Difference?

No, I don’t. Be careful what you wish for; it may come true.

Lately a popular term is Manifest. It seems to be if you desire something strongly enough, it’ll happen. This subject was discussed by some people it worked for. There was no one on the other side saying nothing had worked for them.
