Tiredness can be a symptom of many different illnesses or malfunctions going on in our bodies. Before I retired and had COVID shots, I was extremely tired all the time. I didn’t necessarily want to lie down and sleep, but just didn’t want to do anything that required exerting an effort.
I had bloodwork and biopsies of some of my glands (?). I even was tested for certain diseases and had a tox screening. Nothing came back as being abnormal. All of my numbers were within the acceptable range.
The doctor suggested I take at a week long vacation away from home, eat healthier foods, exclude all sweets like desserts and candies and just relax. So, my wife and I decided on a week at the Outer Banks in North Carolina and just rest, fish, maybe play a round or 2 of golf and even rented a boat for a day.
When I came home, I felt renewed. Whatever it was that was dragging me down was gone. I had energy and got back to doing my normal activities, took my wife out for dinner and dancing at a nearby club, looked forward to going to work and was able to sleep my normal hours again.
This may not be the answer for you, but daily stress, your daily routine, paying bills and having to deal with life issues can drag us all down from time to time. Taking a nice long timeout and just relaxing can turn us around 180 degrees, but not all the time.
Being a State Trooper can produce a lot of stress and stress can cause us to become tired and at times feel like throwing in the towel. I had a good friend that was a really good tool and die maker for Harley Davidson. He had the same symptoms, plus no appetite that I had about 2 years later. He did the same things as I did, but it didn’t help. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I felt terrible when he told me his diagnosis. I felt that I led him down the wrong path and had he seeked the advice of his doctor sooner, it may have made a difference. Waiting those 2 extra weeks may have delayed his treatments.
It’s good you didn’t wait. Some people try otc meds, vitamins, supplements, but nothing takes the place of a doctor’s expertise. Tiredness is generally a symptom that something is not working properly. The sooner it’s found out what’s causing it, the better off you may be.
Good luck.
