Well, many years ago, while living in Philadelphia, I employed poison and regular traps that are triggered when the creature goes for the bait and both methods worked just fine. However, and for some reason, those two methods don't work where I now live. The pest control person said that they are too smart to fall for the traditional baited traps. Well, they worked fine years ago in Philadelphia.
So I was forced to seek another method or else ignore the infestation. But of course the problem is getting rid of an animal that is still alive and impossible to free from that tremendously adhesive glue on that trap
The poison that the pest control agency uses has only killed one that I am aware of. I heard it screeching in agony and later found it lying dead on the kitchen floor. The rest, approx. ten, were all caught by the sticky type traps.
Please note that I do not enjoy inflicting suffering on any animal regardless of species or size even for a brief amount of time. Neither do I enjoy killing them. If indeed I could calmly trap them and release them far from the apartment complex, maybe I would.. But as I said, I have a phobia in reference to mice and rats which prohibits that approach.
