Congrats ggranny!!! Good morning to all!! I'm up and wonder
why...ah well, can't stay in bed all day....gonna be warmish but
not as bad as past few days....today is housekeeping day, she
comes at 11am for couple hours...
I've had terrible tinnitus this week, and still roaring, buzzing, everything going on in my head, lordy...on first cuppa so need
more for sure....catch u later.....;):coffee::devilish:

Good morning all...I'm up early this morning after a slow moving day yesterday. I'm thinking I need to get out the mask and check on my covid vaccination card for any updates, I noticed more people with mask on Wednesday when I was out. Today I plan on finishing mowing, the weather has improved so it will not be so bad. I have new pillows and bed linens to wash and put on my bed, that will be nice to crawl into tonight...:)

I am still staying up all night and sleeping during daylight hours.

I just got out of the shower and am going to run to the grocery at 6am. This Covid thing still has me messed up as well. Don't get me wrong, I am better but the tastebuds and sense of smell are not working right. Everything that is savory taste funny, the only things that are okay, bread, toast, cereal, crackers. Oh donuts and apple pie work well. LOL

So, yes, I need sweets! I hope to see some real foods that sparkle my appetite. Need some fresh veggies. I have plenty of meat in the freezer but nothing sounds good. I will take a look at seafood. That is easy to cook and quick.

Hope everyone is being careful out there. I have gone back to masking up to be safe. Now that I have had it once I know don't want it again. Does anyone know if the new covid shot is available yet? I hope I can get the flu shot and the covid shot at the same time like I usually do.

Be Well!!
Ugh! This is so disappointing. I wonder if a lock down is coming.
I got up at eight which is late for me. I'm sleeping good but with sweat pants and fuzzy socks.
I felt I should eat something so had a little cheese with my coffee. Back to bed soon.
I had a recurring dream all night that I batch made pizza dough, which I'd planned on doing before I got sick. In the dream there was flour and dough all over the kitchen. I simply couldn't get up to clean it up. I was so frustrated!

Signs of things feeling better around here... Sunny morning, no perceptible smoke in the air, no info about recent lighting having started more wildfires. So that welcome highlights this morning were making my posts to the SF thread about well-known singers who have appeared in movies, and the one about teenage hobbies.

Yesterday we started to bring back home some of our more frequently used items that, anticipating evacuation, we'd put into storage in the last few weeks.

This morning will be spent picking more blueberries and rearranging some things outside on our property. We're invited to a 2pm cake & coffee get-together on a friend's porch... expected to be 6-8 people there.

Friday so Tai Chi in the park session. A lovely sunny day so that went well. Next I went to Specsavers to pick up my repaired hearing aid, only to find that it had been left on the desk for me, and the other audiologist had seen it and taken it away to be repaired! It was back "fixed" in the afternoon, only it was still the same. Lots more details etc but I won't bore you. Now I'm going in for an appointment on Monday to have a new one fitted! You could write a sitcom about this service.

Then a brief visit to a local playground to be chased about by Likkle Grandson. After that a mystery tour of Milnthorpe area trying to find a remote farm to drop off a package I picked up for an old friend a few days ago. Another sitcom special :)

Mrs Oy is away watching a show this evening - so stuff it - I'm off to the pub :ROFLMAO:

Waited in until mid-day for DD to call .. and after she did I drove to meet my friend in the next county, so she was coming with me to look at sofa in the furniture store on the retail park...

They had some really lovely Sofas in there ... we tried a few, so it gives me an idea for what I an get if and when I do move, because I'm going to replace everything, including my bed .

They had some real beauties of coffee tables there with ingenious storage... so if I have the space I will think about getting one of those too..

WE called in and had a wander around HomeSense.. they've got all their Halloween stuff out. Seems like it was yesterday they had it out.

I bought 2 Book style storage boxes like these type of thing..

I'll post a pic of the real ones later
Then we went for Coffee at Costa.. then she went home, and I went to the frozen food shop and bough a stack of stuff to fill the freezer.

Nightmare journey tho'.. Friday is always terrible, long traffic jams etc.. but being as the children are still off school I thought it would be a lot clearer on the roads... not a bit of it.. Terrible. The thing is we have had massive influx of immigrants in the last 15 years and especially the last 5.. and we now have 70 million people still using the same roads that just a decade or so ago 50 million were using, and it was jammed then, so now it's just impossible..

Are you saying 20 million people migrated to Britain in 10 years? Two million people a year?

I said a decade or so...could be 15 years but yes we've had Mass Immigration... in the last few years...absolutely massive.

Just today the police got a call for help from an illegal immigrant stowed in the back of a lorry with 12 other illegal immigrants. He rang 999 and told them they were dying, that they were freezing to death , and the police traced the truck, and got them out just in time .

No action was taken against the immigrants.. they will be allowed to stay...

Again today 30 immigrants on a boat that was just about to sink were rescued....

this is a daily occurrence..

That lorry would have been one of many throughout the country with immigrants stowed in the back.. The boats come daily.. several times a day...

Inactivity is getting to me. And spending the day waiting for the alarm every two hours to do eyedrops? Ugh. Screen time is limited to two hours a day until next Wednesday.

@hollydolly Where are the immigrants coming from?
Eastern Europe, (Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria,) Africa, Morocco ...... other places.. I'm trying not to go into too much detail because it'll lead to a political post..

I understand. Whoa! It's quite a trek for them and then to cross the channel as well.

It rained here last night, quite a surprise, and I hear thunder now. Maybe more rain. Yay. Saves watering.

that's the problem ..if they were really running for safety there are plenty countries they pass through where they would be perfectly safe.. and in fact where the countries are much larger than the UK.. but they don't stop there. They risk their lives to come here.. and there is 2 main reasons for that.. and that's where I'm stopping... before I get into politics

Glad I got my things in order and moved my prescriptions to a tiny local chain before the Rite-Aids here all closed under the Walgreens acquisition.

A TV news story this evening showed cars around the corner and down the road waiting on prescriptions at local Walgreen stores which acquired customer prescriptions by default if you hadn't acted.

Saw my new pharmacist interviewed in that story. He says his business has fully doubled, but any new customers face a delay. Calling Walgreens to get each customer's prescriptions moved ties up a pharmacy tech for 3 hours on hold waiting for Walgreen staff.

Last night was probably my last swim for the year, since rain is coming and will cool down the water temp too much for my liking.

This morning I sorted out my shoes according to what my foot doctor recommended. Surprisingly, most of my spare shoes (bought when they were on sale) were the right kind. I got lucky.

I also loaded some old pictures (1950's & 1960's) onto my Mom's photo frame. I'm really enjoying the trip down memory lane!

Just one week to go, and we will be at The Goodwood Revival. The romance and glamour of motor racing as it used to be. The Revival is the only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress and is a return to the halcyon days of Goodwood as the spiritual home of British motor racing.

The are lots of previous years you can see, just go onto Youtube and request Goodwood Revival.

Wednesday indeed per previous post, at 3:30pm bought a reseller's ticket on Vividseats for Journey - Def Leppard at Oracle Park, for just $39 and by 5:30pm was up in San Francisco walking a mile from where I safely park in an upscale neighborhood for free to that SF Giants baseball stadium park. Although Ticketmaster (aka Livenation) had been for weeks ending mail about that concert relating how it was nearly sold out with just 3% of tickets remaining, that was just a big marketing lie they always play. At least 20% of seats were empty unsold. Great fun concert.

Because it is a sports stadium, there are large video monitors all over concession areas so people can watch even when waiting in lines for food and drink. The day before, Tuesday, had been to a Santana concert 65 miles distant, and spent 2 the weekend days at another art, food, music street festival. So now Friday, have needed the last 2 days at home to recover haha.

Tomorrow 8/31, the first day of the Labor Day weekend, at noon will drive the 38 miles north to Milbrae where yet another large art, food, music street festival is occurring with bands. And during September, given cooler temps, there are more regional large street festivals every weekend.

@GeoriaGranny,, glad to hear your eyes are feeling better.

Dry eyes , another old age problem.

Cleaned off my computer desk & shelf above it, yesterday.

Got my must have junk scattered about on the printers.

The slide out shelf is almost clutter free, keyboard, Bible & dictionary.🙃
I have heard that fish oil helps prevent dry eyes. Better check with your doctor.

I got a mosquito bite a couple of days ago. There are warnings in my state about this because of Eastern Equine Encephalitis and West Nile virus They want people to lockdown from dusk to dawn until October.

I got a fever yesterday and stayed in cuz I felt kinda lousy so I took myself out of circulation and am getting some rest. I'm eating as well as I can and feeling as well as I can in the circumstances.

I'm sending myself some positive vibrations.

OMG Chic...I hope you don't have one of those viruses! I was meaning to post a thread about them, if no one has done it already. Feel better soon. These flowers are gorgeous!
