I didn’t get a chance to post about yesterday which was productive. I did two loads of clothes in my little machines and finished putting the items I bought from Walmart away.

Today I’ve been catching up with posts here on the forum. I cleaned up a bit to prepare for my Honorary Daughter’s visit. I invited her over to “go shopping”. I had so many handmade soaps and candles from when I used to market those products. I also had a bunch of stick on bows and a lot of gift bags that I used to use to package customers’ orders. She took about half of the items and walked away with three shopping bags full of stuff.

After she left, I talked with my BFF, ate Cheerios with blueberries then napped for a few hours. My son is working tomorrow (Saturday) and went to bed very early (7:00). So as not to disturb him, I’ll chill quietly, play my games, read some articles online, etc. until he gets up to go to work, which should be around 2:30.

Your Hon. daughter is lucky to get all that swag! :)

Well we went to the other house several days ago. We knew the septic was on the fritz from a week ago. Took two days and a trip to town to rent a sewer snake to get indoor plumbing again. Then a trip to return the snake. Each trip is 100 miles. Then the dishwasher was on the fritz…but seems to have healed itself . Thank goidness for that. But there is a mouse in the bedroom…i have a love/hate relationship with this place

Good morning.

Another do-nothing day here, and I hate it! I just don't cope well with being idle. I was looking forward to going to the Goodwood Revival with @horseless carriage and Mrs. HC until I realized it's not until next week, so instead if DD will take me to the dollar store, I'll get some readers today.

ETA: I see that @-Oy- is going to a Vintage By The Sea affair today. Since HC's Goodwood Revival isn't until next week, I'll join Oy's bunch instead.

My fever seems to have broken for now. I feel weak but not freezing and not every single thing hurting. My head, ears, teeth, fingers, toes, back. Everything hurt!
I had energy to make a pot of coffee and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

@Georgiagranny It rained yesterday evening here too. A good amount, thank goodness, because I could not get out to water.

@Jules A podcast s a good idea! I listen to foodie ones a lot.

@David777 You sure are making the most of life. Glad to see you and @horseless carriage having music/dance fun.

Boy am I glad I was on Grandma Night Duty yesterday. My RN daughter is on call this weekend and it started off with a bang.

I arrived around 6pm to take over from the regular sitter and DD was still at an admission. Got a text about 7:30 saying ‘on the way home’ but then an hour later she texted to say she’d got another call.

Long story short, she finally dragged in about 11pm…. This was after a full day of seeing patients and doing 2 admissions. We sat at the dining table til after midnight… she in her computer and me filling in all the blanks I could on the mountain of paperwork. (If RNs got paid by the piece off paper, we’d get a raise for sure!)

Not sure what today holds for her, but I’ll do my best to be a support. I’m at least going to offer to take her laundry home

Good morning my friends! I'm off to the rink for a day of fun!

No morning party today, actually no parties in the afternoon either (very unusual!), so I should have lots of time to skate!

My bail money stash is empty, so Y'all behave yourselves!

Morning folks....late getting started, was up n down all nite...being very bothered with the tinnitus right now, just
no let up...welp, the sun is shining and it' is 72F now, into mid 80's which will be nice change from this long heat wave...cleaning lady was here yestrday...laundry is finished, so
nothing to do, but I'll find something to get into....

Okay. Got three pairs of readers, one each for kitchen, bedroom, sitting room. I was going to send an email to the doc to ask if it was okay, then didn't bother. I was standing in front of the rack with the readers wondering what strength, and DD volunteered that I'm supposed to get 2.50 strength. Huh? How did she know that? Because it says so on the paperwork that was sent home with me...the paperwork that I couldn't read because the print was too small. Why didn't she tell me? I don't have that answer.

$1.25 each. I was so busy making sure I had my N95 mask so somebody else's covid doesn't get me, sunglasses because bright light hurts my eyes, phone so I could test the small print with the readers, that I forgot to take money! At $1.25 each, DD paid for them. Goody.

Back to clock watching to time eye drops.

Toiday here at the seaside it's day one of the annual 'Vintage By The Sea' weekend. Classic cars and bikes, folk dressing up, singing and dancing - etc. I may have a wander down with my camera :)
Poole in Dorset does something similar. Known as Poole Goes Vintage. Held in the glorious sunshine, back in late July, it featured in a local newspaper.

Wednesday indeed per previous post, at 3:30pm bought a reseller's ticket on Vividseats for Journey - Def Leppard at Oracle Park, for just $39 and by 5:30pm was up in San Francisco walking a mile from where I safely park in an upscale neighborhood for free to that SF Giants baseball stadium park. Although Ticketmaster (aka Livenation) had been for weeks ending mail about that concert relating how it was nearly sold out with just 3% of tickets remaining, that was just a big marketing lie they always play. At least 20% of seats were empty unsold. Great fun concert.

Because it is a sports stadium, there are large video monitors all over concession areas so people can watch even when waiting in lines for food and drink. The day before, Tuesday, had been to a Santana concert 65 miles distant, and spent 2 the weekend days at another art, food, music street festival. So now Friday, have needed the last 2 days at home to recover haha.

Tomorrow 8/31, the first day of the Labor Day weekend, at noon will drive the 38 miles north to Milbrae where yet another large art, food, music street festival is occurring with bands. And during September, given cooler temps, there are more regional large street festivals every weekend.
David, your ticket strategies are inspiring. Like SF, Los Angeles's ticket prices are through the roof. I'm going to start looking at tix the day before or day of an event to see if I can score some better prices.

How do you ensure that you aren't ripped off by a scammer?

Around 2:45 a.m. I Swiffered the floors, scooped the litter box then got the garbage ready for my son to take out. Went to McD's to pick up an egg & cheese biscuit then to the Amazon Hub to pick up my package of Folger's decaf coffees.

Afterward I stopped at the supermarket to get almond milk and eggs and also got Gorton's fish fillets and two Friendly's mini sundaes. The 48 oz is on sale, but I didn 't dare. Came home, changed clothes and ate my biscuit. Fast forwarded through a couple of B movies so I could finish them.
